Doogee MIX has attracted a lot of attention due to its blatant copying of the MIX part of the name of Xiaomi Mi MIX and its marketing materials that make the Doogee model look exactly the same as the Xiaomi one. In this in-depth review of the Doogee MIX, we check whether this is true or false and whether the Doogee offering is worth investing USD 200.

Doogee MIX is equipped with a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a 720p resolution and a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for protection. The same type of glass protects the back, while in the middle a stainless steel frame sits. The smartphone is powered by a MediaTek Helio P25 (MT6757T) system-on-chip, built after the 16nm FinFET process. Its octa-core CPU consists of four 2.5GHz Cortex-A53 cores and four 1.4GHz ones. The graphics depend on a 900MHz dual-core Mali-T880 MP2 GPU. The model arrives with 4GB or 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM, which is double-channel and clocked at 800MHz. The internal memory can be either 64GB or 128GB and can be expanded. The camera department features two rear cameras. The first is equipped with a 16-megapixel Samsung S5K3P3 ISOCELL sensor, while the second features an 8-megapixel one (unconfirmed). The 16MP camera has a 5-element lens with an f/2.0 aperture. Both shooters are accompanied by a LED flash and phase-detection AF. On the front, below the display, the selfie snapper sits. It packs a 5-megapixel GalaxyCore GC5024 sensor and an 86-degree wide-angle lens with an f/2.2 aperture. The home button below the display has an embedded Dtouch fingerprint sensor that provides 360-degree recognition. A 3380 mAh Li-Pol battery keeps the lights on. It is non-removable and arrives with a 5V/2A fast charger. The battery is capable of providing up to 45.6 hours of talk time and up to 11 hours of video playing. The smartphone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat with a good choice of customization options. It supports 2G GSM (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz), 3G W-CDMA (900, 1900, 2100 MHz), and 4G LTE (800, 900, 1800, 2100, 2600 MHz) networks, the LTE ones providing Cat. 6 speeds. The wireless connectivity options of the model include dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Cast display, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and GLONASS. The device has a 3.5 mm jack and a Micro-USB 2.0 with OTG support. Here are the complete Doogee MIX specifications.

What's in the box

Doogee MIX arrives in a stylish black box, which has the MIX logo on the lid along with the MINI+MAX=MIX inscription and the Doogee logo on the side of the lid. Inside, the device lies in the top level compartment. Below it, in an envelope, you will see a hard protective case in black for the back, a screen protector and a cloth for wiping the screen and glass back. There's a pre-applied screen protector, too. Of course, a Micro-USB cable, charger (10W), and a SIM tray pin along with a user guide and warranty card are placed inside as well.
