Xiaomi Mi 6 and Mi 6 Ceramic Edition are officialAt a press conference in Beijing today Xiaomi takes the wraps off the Mi 6. The company says the team has been waiting for 7 years to create this device (the Mi 6). Xiaomi has opened 70 Mi Home in China, and their next goal is to open 1000 stores in total within the next 3 years for more Mi fans to experience their products. Mi 6 is the top product in technology since the company's establishment 7 years ago. Mi 6 has a Snapdragon 835 10nm processor that has a 64-bit, octa-core CPU, Adreno 540 GPU that supports Wi-Fi 802.11 ac with 2x2 MU-MIMO system. The CPU has an all-new Kryo 280 microarchitecture and a max clock rate of 2.45GHz. The GPU provides 25% higher performance and 45% increase in power efficiency compared to the previous Adreno 530. The device has shown an AnTuTu score of more than 184000 points! There's 6GB of RAM on board (LPDDR4X, 64-bit, dual-channel). The internal memory measures 64GB. Mi 6 has a four-sided curve that makes it easy and comfortable to hold. The body is made of stainless steel coupled with a four-sided 3D glass and has a USB Type-C port along with a home-button-embedded, underglass fingerprint sensor, dual stereo speakers and two rear cameras and a dual-tone LED flash. Color options include black, white, and blue with gold-color frame. No 3.5 mm jack. The SIM card slot is tightly sealed to prevent water from entering. IP certifications is not revealed, but it is said that the device is resistant against water splashes. On the top frame we see a mic hole and an IR blaster. The screen has a 5.15-inch diagonal size. It is mentioned that the model will have a Platinum Edition. Probably this is what is referred to the Silver version of the model. In the past 180 days, Xiaomi have made over millions of casing, and they've been only able to take 10-20 pieces due to the imperfection. The latest update by the product designers is that the silver edition is not ready for production yet. Anyways, a sample of the model is shown and it looks stunning! "We dare to explore, dare to push boundaries, we are forever young at heart to take the extra step ahead." Xiaomi has made a research that has unveiled that using the display at night is most harmful to the eyes. Hence, Mi 6 has an eye-protection display. The manufacturer has reduced the lowest brightness by 78% to 1nit at the extra night mode. At the same time the peal brightness measures 600 cd/m2. The screen fulfills national colored light standards (CQC3130) and prevents discomforts caused by shifts in color. In addition, the all-new 2x2 dual Wi-Fi technology allows you to stay connected no matter where you are. The model also supports NFC, including as a transport card in selected cities in China, Alipay and Wechat Fingerprint payment. Xiaomi Mi 6 also packs a 3350 mAh battery, which according to them, is the largest battery found on a smartphone with a 5.15-inch display. The dual-rear camera setup includes a 12MP wide-angle lens and a 12MP telephoto lens. Similar to Huawei P10, it has a special depth-of-field mode for portraits along with an improved beauty face technology. They have even found a formula to beautify males and females separately. The Mi 6 camera provides 2x optical lossless zoom that takes clearer shots, even at a distance. It provides 10x digital zoom, using an ISP algorithm. The shooters also utilize a 4-axis OIS, which allows image stability via its in-built accelerometer and gyroscope.

The price of Xiaomi Mi 6 is set at CNY 2499 (USD 363) for the 6/64GB version and CNY 2899 (USD 421) for the 6/128GB variant. There's a Ceramic Edition with a ceramic body and a 18K gold ring around the rear cameras. It is equipped with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The price is set at CNY 2999 (USD 436). Mi 6 will go on sale in China on April 28th on Mi.com, Mi Home and participating online merchants.
