Meitu T8 is official, sports a Helio X20 chipset, a 5.2" FHD display and a front-camera with OIS and AFMeitu has announced the Meitu T8 - its latest elegant offering focused on providing elegant design, high-end performance and quality photos. Similar to previously released smartphone by the brand, this model has a double-V shape and a circular home button with an embedded fingerprint sensor by Fingerprint Cards. Under its hood ticks a MediaTek Helio X20 (MT6797) chipset that includes two 2.3GHz Cortex-A72 cores, four 2GHz Cortex-A53 and another quadruplet of the latter, but clocked at 1.4GHz. Graphics are handled by a quad-core Mali-T880 MP4 clocked at 700MHz. Meitu T8 will have a 5.2-inch display with an FHD resolution. It will be equipped with a large rear camera aided by dual-tone LED flash. It is the front-facing camera that sees most of the improvement. It employs an AI technology for face recognition, age identification, gender identification, and an exclusive beautification software. Meitu has also developed the so called "self-timer black technology" and a mysterious technology for shooting in low light conditions. The shooter also packs a two-way lens supported by optical image stabilization (OIS) and fast autofocus. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with MEIOS on top and supports 4G LTE networks, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. At 12:00h on January 12, Meitu will release via its website only 1000 units with the pre-sale price set at CNY 5000 (USD 720).
