Sharp unveils the Aquos R with a 5.3" WQHD display with HDR10 supportSharp joins LG in announcing a smartphone with HDR10 support. The Aquos R features a 5.3-inch IGZO display with a WQHD resolution (1440 x 2560 at 120Hz) and HDR10 support (playback of high quality 4K HDR content). It also houses the latest Qualcomm chipset - Snapdragon 835, coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of UFS memory. The device runs Android 7.1 Nougat integrating an AI app called EMOPA and supports dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac with MIMO, Bluetooth 5.0. The primary camera of the smartphone packs a 22.6MP sensor and an f/1.9, 90-degree wide-angle lens, OIS and EIS, PDAF, while the front-facing shooter is equipped with a 16.3MP sensor, PDAF and a 90-degree wide-angle lens with an f/2.0 aperture. The body has a glossy metal frame, luxurious back, and is IPX5, IPX8/IP6X against water and dust an has a USB Type-C 3.0 port and a front fingerprint sensor. A 3160 mAh battery keeps the lights on.
