Xiaomi presented the Mi 5s and the Mi 5s PlusXiaomi always attracts a lot of attention, when it is about to announce new smartphones and this is for a good reason, because the manufacturer provides some of the best value for money devices in the market. Today it presented two new smartphones named Xiaomi Mi 5s and Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus. The first model features a very compact body made of metal with a 5.15-inch display that packs an IPS panel with an FHD resolution, 1500:1 contrast ratio, 94% coverage of the NTSC color space, and force touch. The IPS panel put side, this very much sounds like the Meizu Pro 6 in terms of screen properties. Furthermore, Xiaomi Mi 5s is equipped with an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor placed under the 2.5D glass panel and a 3200 mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. Under the hood ticks a real performance beast - the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 MSM8996 Pro chipset with 2x 2.15GHz Kryo cores and another pair of Kryo cores, but clocked at 2GHz. They are coupled with a 653MHz Adreno 530 GPU. The double-channel LPDDR4 RAM and UFS 2.0 storage measures 3/4GB and 64/128GB, respectively. The camera department specs promise quality photos as the primary shooter is equipped with Sony's largest sensor - the 13MP IMX378 Exmor R one, which is 1/2.3" large and the pixel size is 1.55 microns. The 4MP front-facing camera's sensor has 2-micron pixels. It is aided by a dual-tone LED flash and an f/2.0 lens. The smartphone supports 4G+ networks, full-featured NFC, DLNA, VoLTE, USB OTG, infrared connections. In addition there is support for dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, 802.11n 5GHz, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Display, and Bluetooth 4.2. Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus is virtually the same device, but with three differences - a larger display - 5.7-inch one that retains the FHD IPS panel, logically the model is larger in size, too. The display has a contrast ratio of 1300:1 and peak brightness of 500 cd/sq.m. The primary camera is the second main difference and packs two separate modules on the back. The first is with a 13MP Sony IMX258 sensor, while the second is monochrome and has a 13MP sensor, too. The third difference is the larger battery with a 3800 mAh capacity. Both models runs MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and are available in light grey, grey, rose-gold and gold colors. The 4/64GB version of Xiaomi Mi 5s costs CNY 1999 (USD 300), while the 6/128GB one is priced at CNY 2299 (USD 345). The same is the price for the 4/64GB version of Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus.Source
