Oukitel WP55 Pro Design, Build, and Controls

Oukitel WP55 Pro is a smartphone that meets bespoke toughness with a refined design. Its thin profile is shaped with clean, minimalist lines, softened by subtle curves and elevated with tech‑inspired accents that hint at the power within. Reinforced materials are integrated seamlessly into the design - not as bulky armor, but as intentional, sculpted elements that enhance both durability and visual appeal. The result is a device that balances elegance and resilience, delivering a modern, streamlined aesthetic without compromising the rugged strength demanded by real‑world use. The Oukitel WP55 Pro is engineered for the unstoppable. Its aluminum–titanium alloy frame and dual‑color injection‑molded polycarbonate shell create a rugged exterior that looks as tough as it performs. Reinforced TPU wraps every edge and frame, delivering shock absorption and a confident, ergonomic grip built for all‑day use in the real world. The device carries IP68 and IP69K ratings and meets MIL‑STD‑810H standards. It is fully dustproof, waterproof, and engineered to survive 1.5‑meter drops (up to 16 times), water immersion up to 1.5 m of depth for up to 30 minutes, high‑pressure water jets, and extreme temperatures ranging. Wherever your work or adventure takes you, the WP55 Pro is built to go further. Oukitel WP55 Pro is based on the same chassis as several other Oukitel smartphones, sharing with them similar dimensions and weight. The device is 81 mm wide, 15.3 mm thick, and 173.3 mm tall. This size partially enables one-handed operation. The balanced use of materials enables a manageable weight of 360 grams. The handset is mostly black with accents either in silver gray or in orange. We are reviewing the black-silver version. A 6.6-inch display occupies the front of the device, protected by a 1.1 mm-thick Corning Gorilla Glass 5. There's also a pre-applied screen protector for additional peace of mind. The side bezels are 3 mm-thin, while the top and bottom bezels measure 5 and 7 mm, respectively. The top one features a V-shaped notch for the selfie camera. The light and proximity sensors are placed to its right. The receiver is a hair-thin slit between the frame and the screen. Both virtual navigation buttons and on-screen gestures are available as system navigation. The rear shell follows a clean, purposeful design. The upper third is dominated by an octagonal camera island with a glossy, silvery metal frame. It houses three lenses - the top one is for the main camera. The bottom-left is for the Night Vision camera with dual IR lights above it. The bottom-right is for the macro camera with the dual-LED flash above it. The rest of the rear shell is smooth, tough plastic with a mecha-inspired ornamentation drawing. The top frame houses a vent hole and an IP68 sign. The microphone, USB Type-C port, and the 1217 BOX speaker are positioned on the bottom frame. The speaker delivers 95 dB of loudness and works with an AllWinner AW88394 sound amplifier. On the left, you see the hybrid, dual SIM tray which can be pulled out directly with a pick or a similar tool. It is adjoined by a red customizable button. The right frame is where the Power button with an embedded fingerprint sensor is located, along with small and round Volume Down and Volume Up buttons.

We recorded a peak brightness of 500.546 cd/m² and a typical level of 470 nits - both exceeding the official specification. These results were taken from the center of the display using a full‑white test pattern. Our usual display measurements of the white and black luminance, static contrast ratio, and color temperature are published below. If you follow our smartphone reviews, you already know that for a more realistic result, we make two different measurements - on a single frame that displays 50% white and 50% black, and on two separate frames displaying a fully white and a fully black screen.

A single frame, 50% white / 50% black

Brightness White luminance Black luminance Contrast Color temperature
100 % 356.908 cd/m2 0.262 cd/m2 1361 : 1 7402 K
0 % 2.838 cd/m2 0.000 cd/m2 - 7511 K

Two separate black and white frames

Brightness White luminance Black luminance Contrast Color temperature
100 % 500.546 cd/m2 0.228 cd/m2 2195 : 1 7403 K
0 % 3.16 cd/m2 0.000 cd/m2 - 7541 K
The results clearly highlight a significant gap between the white luminance values produced by the two measurement methods. Using the two‑separate‑frames approach, the display reached 500.546 cd/m² at full brightness, while the single‑frame method delivered 356.908 cd/m² under the same conditions. Since black luminance remains nearly unchanged between the two, the resulting contrast ratios differ substantially - 2195:1 versus 1361:1. The white point sits at a comfortable 7400–7500 K, giving the image a pleasant tone.

FOSSiBOT F107 Pro display brightness uniformity

Bottom 434.524 cd/m2 / 7414 K 437.911 cd/m2 / 7451 K 441.436 cd/m2 / 7553 K
Our brightness uniformity measurement shows that the display of the WP55 Pro is not uniformly bright. The top one-third of the screen is the second-brightest with an average white luminance of 463.195 nits and a temperature of the white point around 7500 K. The middle one-third of the screen is the brightest area with an average white luminance of 489.1 nits and a temperature of the white point around 7550 K. The bottom one-third is the least bright, with an average white luminance of 437.957 and an average temperature of the white point around 7500 K.
The CIE diagram of the WP55 Pro screen demonstrates a wider-than-sRGB coverage. It suggests that the light green, yellow, orange, and light red tones are punchier. The display panel has a traditional vertical striped RGB subpixel arrangement.

Oukitel WP55 Pro Software

Oukitel WP55 Pro runs on stock Android 15 with Oukitel's minor touch-ups. The Lock Screen has a standard layout with a wallpaper carousel and a shortcut to the latest news from Google Discover. The Home Screen features the usual docked row of apps, two rows of favorite applications, a Date/Clock widget, a weather widget, and a Google search bar on top with Lens and Voice embedded. The Task Manager is in its simplest design, with horizontally tiled app previews and access to the app info and split-screen mode. The Customization Picker is also quite simplified with a stock set of Wallpaper & Style options, Widgets, and a very limited list of Home settings. Still, the latter allows you to switch the launcher style to one with an app drawer and hide Google Discover. The Notifications and Quick Settings are in their stock Android design and layout. Desktop shortcuts are supported. The pre-installed applications are quite standard and complemented by a group of third-party apps - Weather, Market (for apps), OKGame, DDU Browser, Weather, TapPic, and AI Beacon.
The Settings app uses a simple, monochrome layout, presenting each menu item in a clean list without visual separators for a more minimal, streamlined feel. The only standout section is Smart Assistant, which includes gesture controls, smart wakeup, and screenshot options. There's also a dedicated menu for extended fingerprint actions, allowing the sensor to trigger functions like going back, playing or pausing music, returning to the home screen, opening the task manager, capturing photos or videos, or answering calls. Of course, the Memory Expansion option is also present. Everything else follows the standard stock Android layout.
We have received confirmation from Oukitel that after the new product is officially launched, there will be a software update in two or three months, and then every six months. At the same time, the manufacturer will collect users' feedback and will make some corresponding updates in time according to user needs.

Oukitel WP55 Pro Connectivity

The Oukitel WP55 Pro places its water‑ and dust‑sealed hybrid dual Nano‑SIM tray on the left side of the device. It supports either two Nano‑SIM cards or a combination of one Nano‑SIM and one microSD card, and can be ejected with a pick or similar tool. The tray is lined with a red insulating band to reinforce its protection. Both SIM slots are compatible with a wide range of network bands, including 2G GSM (B2, B3, B5, B8), 2.5G CDMA (BC0, BC1, BC10), 3G WCDMA (B1, B2, B4, B5, B6, B8, B19), 4G FDD‑LTE (B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B7, B8, B12, B13, B17, B18, B19, B20, B25, B26, B28AB, B66, B71), 4G TDD‑LTE (34, B38, B39, B40, B41), and 5G (n1, n2, n3, n5, n7, n8, n12, n20, n25, n28, n34, n38, n39, n40, n41, n48, n66, n71, n77, n78). Wireless connectivity covers NFC, Bluetooth 5.2, Wi‑Fi 5, Wi‑Fi Direct, Hotspot, and Cast Display. The device also supports all major global satellite navigation systems - GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and Beidou - and in testing, it locked onto a strong number of satellites with accuracy reaching 1 meter. A USB Type‑C 2.0 port completes the connectivity suite.

Oukitel WP55 Pro Battery Life Tests

Oukitel WP55 Pro has a 11000 mAh battery pack, supporting 33W fast charging. Below, we publish the results from our in-house battery life tests. The display of every device we test is calibrated to 200 cd/m2. Battery-saving features are switched off where possible.
Charging (2 hours and 26 minutes)
The Oukitel WP55 Pro's battery reached a full charge in 2 hours and 26 minutes using the included charger and cable. Charging progresses at a consistent pace up to the 50% mark, which is achieved around the 50‑minute point. From there, the speed tapers slightly, taking another 55 minutes to climb to 90%, and the final stretch to 100% requires an additional 51 minutes.

Voltage behavior follows a typical pattern: it jumps from 3800 mV to 4020 mV within the first three minutes, then rises more gradually. Once the battery hits roughly 75%, the voltage stabilizes at about 4490 mV, dipping slightly to 4450 mV during the last six minutes.

The battery temperature starts at 32°C and climbs steadily, peaking at 44°C around the 48‑minute mark. It holds there for about 20 minutes, then settles at 43°C for another 20 minutes before slowly cooling down to 30°C by the end of the cycle.
Browsing 60 Hz (23 hours and 49 minutes)
During our intensive browsing test with the screen's refresh rate set at 60Hz, the WP55 Pro battery lasted for 23 hours and 49 minutes. The discharging process has a slightly slower start and a more prominent slower end, after the battery charge drops to 5% an hour before the end. The battery temperature starts at 25°C, reaches 32°C in almost an hour, and remains at this level until the end, with some episodes at 33°C. The 120Hz refresh rate setting acts as an automatic one, hence the results of the 60Hz and the 120Hz browsing tests are very similar.
1080p Video at 60 Hz (26 hours and 47 minutes)
1920x1080, 30 fps, H.264, 20Mbps bitrate
The video playing battery life test uses a 1080p video at 30 fps with a ~20Mbps rate. In this scenario, the WP55 Pro lasted 26 hours and 47 minutes. The discharge curve mirrors what we’ve seen in other tests: a gentle decline at the start, followed by a more noticeable slowdown once the battery dips below 5%. Throughout the entire run, the battery temperature remains stable, holding between 30°C and 32°C.
2160p Video at 60 Hz (8 hours and 55 minutes)
3840x2160, 30 fps, H.264, ~55 Mbps bitrate
The 4K video battery life test uses a 2160p video at 30 fps with a ~55 Mbps rate. Under these conditions, the WP55 Pro managed 8 hours and 55 minutes of runtime. Both the score and the discharge curve make it clear that 4K playback puts significant strain on the device. The battery drains gently at first but drops off quickly near the end. Temperature begins at 34°C, climbs to 43°C within the first 45 minutes, and continues rising gradually until it reaches 47°C by the time the battery is fully depleted.

Oukitel WP55 Pro Battery Settings

The Battery menu offers the usual suite of controls. You can track overall battery status, review app‑by‑app or system‑level power usage, and enable the standard battery saver with optional scheduling. Toggles for Adaptive Battery and for showing the battery percentage in the status bar are also available. As with many recent rugged devices, there's a dedicated Battery Health section that lets you select charging modes designed to extend long‑term battery lifespan. It also includes a Sleep Charging Mode option, along with details such as the battery’s manufacturing date, activation date, and total charge cycles.
