Overview

The Ulefone Power Armor 13 is the brand's third smartphone with a 13000+ mAh battery, following the Ulefone Power 5 and Power 5S, the latter we have already reviewed. Ulefone has also released several successful Armor models with 10000 mAh batteries, so we can conclude that the brand does have experience in creating reliable ruggedized smartphones with big batteries. The main selling point of the Power Armor 13 is its 13200 mAh battery, however, a number of other features do make a set of specs that's worth considering if you're on the hunt for a reliable rugged smartphone. And here's just a few before we delve into the detailed specifications: infrared rangefinder, excellent connectivity, big FHD+ display, 48MP camera, and of course - the ability to withstand harsh environmental conditions.

Specifications

The Ulefone Power Armor 13 has a 6.67-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and Glove Mode support. The unspecified protective glass has an effective oleophobic coating. There's a punch hole for the selfie camera, positioned in the top left corner of the display. The shooter uses a 16MP Samsung S5K3P3 sensor and a 5-element lens with an f/2.2 aperture. The rear camera module comprises a 48MP Samsung S5KGM1 main shooter with an f/1.8 aperture and a 6-element lens. It is adjoined by an 8MP Samsung S5K4H7 ultra-wide camera with a 120° field of view, f/2.2 aperture. The module is complemented by a 2MP GalaxyCore GC02M2 macro lens without autofocus and a 2MP GalaxyCore GC02M2 depth-sensing unit. A series of five LEDs comprise the camera's flash unit. A 13200 mAh battery keeps the lights on supporting 33W fast charging, 15W wireless charging, and 5W reverse wireless charging. Processing power is based on the 12nm MediaTek Helio G95 (MT6785V/CD) chipset that houses an octa-core CPU with two 2.05GHz Cortex-A76 cores and six 2GHz Cortex-A55 cores. A quad-core ARM Mali-G76 GPU clocked at 900MHz is responsible for the graphics department. There are 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.1 storage onboard. The built-in memory can be expanded via a microSD card.

The Ulefone Power Armor 13 has a hybrid, dual Nano-SIM tray with both SIM cards supporting 4G. The network bands supported by both cards are as follows: 2G GSM (2/3/5/8), 3G WCDMA (1/2/4/5/8), 4G TDD-LTE (38/40), 4G FDD-LTE (B1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/13/17/18/19/20/25/26/28A/28B/66). The wireless connectivity options of the model include Bluetooth 5, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Wi-Fi Display. The smartphone also supports NFC and works with GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and Beidou. It also has a built-in antenna, which ensures direct radio reception without the need for headphones. In addition, the device is fitted with an interface for endoscopes, a USB Type-C port, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, an infrared rangefinder, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The Power Armor 13 runs on Android 11 with Ulefone's overlay on top. The rugged body is IP68 and IP69K rated for water and dust resistance and has a MIL-STD-810G certification for resistance to drops, shock, pressure, humidity, acidic atmosphere, temperature extremes, and similar types of impact.

What's in the box

The Ulefone Power Armor 13 is placed in what has become a traditional box for the Armor series - black and yellow color with design elements that convey toughness. The brand and model names are imprinted on top of the lid. Inside, the device lies in a special compartment with cushioning on all four sides. Under it, there's an envelope with the documents and screen protector. Under the envelope, the rest of the accessories is placed.
