Overview

Ulefone has gone a long way in terms of creating reliable smartphones and since the start of its most successful series - the Armor one, the brand has proved that it is ready to evolve and constantly improve its products. The obvious maturity in design and build, the usage of modern hardware, and establishing a reputable name in the rugged smartphones niche have definitely elevated the Ulefone brand. The latest addition to the Ulefone Armor series available in the European market is the Ulefone Armor 12. This smartphone does combine a beautiful design with a rare feature - silver ion antibacterial coating, bespoke rugged qualities, 5G connectivity, dual stereo speakers, snappy chipset, good cameras, and battery life.

Specifications

The Ulefone Armor 12 is built around a 6.52-inch IPS display with a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels and an oleophobic coating. The V-shaped notch houses a 16MP Sony IMX481 sensor and a 5-element lens with an f/2.2 aperture. On the back, there's a quad-camera module comprising a 48MP Samsung S5KGM2 main camera with an f/2.0 aperture and a 6-element lens, an 8MP Samsung S5K4H7 ultra-wide camera with a 120° field of view, f/2.2 aperture, a 2MP OmniVision OV02B macro lens, and a 2MP GalaxyCore GC02M2 depth-sensing unit. They are adjoined by a dual-tone LED flash. Power is supplied b a 5180 mAh with 18W fast charging and 15W wireless charging support. A MediaTek Dimensity 700 (MT6833) chipset ticks under the hood of the Ulefone Armor 12, flexing an octa-core CPU with two 2.2GHz Cortex-A76 cores and six 2GHz Cortex-A55 cores. The graphics department is managed by a dual-core ARM Mali-G57 MP2 GPU clocked at 955 MHz. The smartphone arrives with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage that can be expanded via a microSD card.

The Ulefone Armor 12 has a hybrid, dual Nano-SIM tray with both SIM cards supporting 5G. The supported network bands include 2G GSM (2/3/5/8), 2.5G (BC0/BC1), 3G WCDMA (1/2/4/5/6/8/19), 4G TDD-LTE (34/39), 4G FDD-LTE (B1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/13/17/18/19/20/25/26/28A/28B/66, and 5G (N1/3/28/38/41/77/78). The SAR values for the model are as follows: EU head - 0.257 W/kg, body - 0.991 W/kg. The wireless connectivity options of the model include Bluetooth 5.1, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Wi-Fi Display. The smartphone also supports NFC and works with GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and Beidou. It also has a built-in antenna, which ensures direct radio reception without the need for headphones. The model is further equipped with a USB Type-C port, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and linear stereo speakers. The Armor 12 runs on Android 11. The rugged body is IP68 and IP69K rated for water and dust resistance and has a MIL-STD-810G certification for resistance to drops, shock, pressure, humidity, acidic atmosphere, temperature extremes, and similar types of impact.

What's in the box

The Ulefone Armor 12 arrives in a very stylish black rectangular box. Its surface has a sandstone-like coating. The brand and model name along with a 5G sign are imprinted on top of the lid in gold letters, while the sides have an "Armor Series" sign in golden letters.
