Overview

Oukitel OT5 is a sleek and good-looking tablet with a big display and generous accessories that is sold at a tempting price. We put to our usual routine of testing, benching, and measuring each aspect and report the results here. [UPDATE as of Nov 9, 2023] We received Oukitel's response on the battery capacity and camera issues. Apparently, Oukitel has sent us a beta sample for testing. The final product that will go on sale will have a 10800 mAh battery capacity. As for the lack of a macro camera, the technicians are still working on updating the system. They will send us a fix once it is ready. Finally, their specification for a 5MP front camera is wrong and it should be 8MP.

Specifications

Oukitel OT5 has a 12-inch IPS display with a resolution of 2000 x 1200 pixels. According to the manufacturer, it is protected by a 0.7 mm thick Corning Gorilla Glass 5. A MediaTek Helio G99 (MT6789) ticks under the hood with a 2.2GHz octa-core CPU and a dual-core 1GHz Mali-G57 GPU. It is paired with 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. The chipset supports 4G connectivity and more specifically, the following network bands - 2G GSM (2/3/5/8), 3G WCDMA (1/2/4/5/8), 4G FDD-LTE (B1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/13/17/18/19/20/25/26/28A/28B/66), and 4G TDD-LTE (34/38/39/40/41). The wireless connectivity options of the model include Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 5, Wi-Fi Hotspot, and Cast display. The tablet has a hybrid, dual-SIM card tray that can accommodate either two Nano-SIM cards or a Nano-SIM card and a microSD card. It runs on Android 13 and supports GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and Beidou. It is also equipped with a USB Type-C 2.0 port.
