Overview

The Cubot KingKong 5 Pro is a good-looking rugged smartphone with an ample battery capacity, stereo speakers, 48MP camera. It is fairly priced and could very well be used either as a secondary device or as a primary smartphone for a lifestyle that's related to outdoor experiences requiring tough devices.

Specifications

The Cubot KingKong 5 Pro is equipped with a 6.088-inch IPS display panel with an HD+ resolution (720 x 1560 pixels). The screen has a big U-notch for the 25MP Samsung S5K2X5 selfie snapper. There's a triple camera module on the back of the handset housing a 48MP Samsung S5KGM1 main camera with an f/1.8 aperture, a 5MP Samsung S5K5E2 macro shooter with an f/2.2 aperture, and a 0.3MP GalaxyCore GC030a for depth-sensing. Power is supplied by an 8000 mAh battery with 15W fast charging. The smartphone is based on a MediaTek Helio A25 (MT6762V/WD) chipset. Built on TSMC's 12nm FinFET production process, it packs an octa-core CPU with four 1.8GHz Cortex-A53 cores and four 1.5GHz Cortex-A53 cores. An IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU clocked at 600 MHz manages the graphics department. The chipset is paired to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage.

The Cubot KingKong 5 Pro is IP68, IP69K, and MIL-STD-810G certified for resistance to water, dust, drops, shock, pressure, humidity, temperature extremes, etc. It has a hybrid, dual Nano-SIM tray with both SIM cards supporting 4G VoLTE simultaneously. The network bands supported by both cards are as follows: 2G GSM (2/3/5/8), 3G WCDMA (1/2/4/5/8), 4G FDD-LTE (1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/13/17/18/19/20/26/28/66), and 4G TDD-LTE (38/40/41). The wireless connectivity options of this smartphone include Bluetooth 5, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Wi-Fi Display. The smartphone also supports NFC and works with GPS, GLONASS, and Beidou. A USB Type-C 2.0 port with OTG support, a customizable button, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor are also provided.
