Ulefone T2 Review

Overview

The Ulefone T2 has been teased for the first time more than a year and a half ago. Back then, it was said that the device will have a Helio P60 chipset and a 3900 mAh battery. Taking into account the time it needed to launch this device, Ulefone has updated these two parameters to Helio P70 and 4200 mAh, respectively. All the rest remains the same as announced earlier. The device combines a higher-than-mid-range performance, big display, beautifully designed body, NFC and wireless charging support in a package that's reasonably priced. Following is our in-depth review of the Ulefone T2 that spreads on ten pages with all details that we could find out for this device.

Specifications

Ulefone T2 is adorned with a 6.7-inch screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2280 pixels. The IPS display panel provides a brightness of 470 cd/m² and covers 98% of the NTSC colour reference space. The camera department of this smartphone includes an 8MP Sony IMX134 sensor with an f/2.0 lens placed in the notch above the display. On the back, there's a vertically aligned and centrally positioned dual-camera module that includes a 16MP Samsung S5K3P9 ISOCELL Bright sensor with an f/1.8 lens and an 8MP GalaxyCore GC8024 depth-sensing unit. They are aided by PDAF and a dual-LED flash. The rear shooters are accompanied by a fingerprint sensor. The model is powered by a 4200 mAh battery with an 18W fast charger and supports 10W Qi wireless charging.

Ulefone T2 packs a MediaTek Helio P70 (MT6771T) chipset based on TSMC's 12 nm process. Its octa-core CPU consists of 4x 2.1GHz Cortex-A73 and 4x 1.95GHz Cortex-A53 cores. The graphics department is managed by a tri-core Mali-G72 MP3 GPU clocked 900 MHz. The onboard RAM and storage measure 6GB and 128GB, respectively. The latter can be expanded with up to 256GB. The RAM is dual-channel, LPDDR4X, clocked at 1600 MHz, while the built-in memory is of the eMMC 5.1 type. The Ulefone T2 is equipped with a hybrid, dual Nano-SIM tray placed on the top frame. Both SIM cards support 4G LTE Cat. 7 and VoLTE simultaneously. The model works with the following network bands making it suitable for worldwide use: 2G GSM (2/3/5/8), 2.5G CDMA (BC0/BC1), 3G WCDMA (1/2/4/5/8), 3G TD-SCDMA (34/39), 4G FDD-LTE (1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/17//19/20/2BA/28B) and 4G TDD-LTE (34/38/39/40/41). The wireless connectivity options of the Ulefone T2 include Bluetooth 4.2, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Wi-Fi Display. The smartphone also supports NFC with Google Pay and works with GPS, GLONASS and Beidou. The model is equipped with a USB Type-C 2.0 port with OTG support. There's no 3.5 mm jack, which as usual is compensated by a headphone adapter included in the package. The smartphone runs on Android 9 Pie.
