Battery Tests

The Ulefone Note 18 Ultra is powered by a 5450 mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. The manufacturer specifies 30 hours of talk time and 295 hours of standby time. All battery life tests are developed in-house. The display of every device we test is calibrated to 200 cd/m2 and battery-saving features are disabled. Below we publish all available results and battery life comparisons.
Charging (2 hours and 38 minutes)
The battery of our review unit charged in full in 2 hours and 38 minutes with the provided USB data cable and charger. The process is relatively fast and stable for the first 1 hour and 30 minutes, after which, the battery regains 80% of its charge. Then, charging slows down and it takes 20 minutes to regain the next 10% and 48% to charge the final 10% to 100%. The battery temperature starts at 30°C, reaches 40°C in 28 minutes, stays at this level for 1 hour, and begins decreasing until it measures 29°C at the end.
Browsing at 60 Hz (13 hours and 30 minutes)
During our intensive browsing test with the refresh rate set at 60Hz, the battery of our Note 18 Ultra lasted for 13 hours and 30 minutes. The discharging process is slow during the first 20 minutes. Then it gains speed and develops steadily until the end. The battery temperature starts at 31°C, reaches 36°C in 20 minutes, and fluctuates around the 36°C-37°C level until the end.
Browsing at 90 Hz (10 hours and 30 minutes)
Setting the display refresh rate at 90Hz decreases the battery stamina during browsing to 10 hours and 30 minutes. The discharging process has a slow start - after the first 20 minutes, the battery charge drops by 1% only. Then the process gains speed and maintains it until the end. The battery temperature fluctuates from 37°C to 39°C from the start until the end.
1080p Video at 60 Hz (15 hours and 11 minutes)
1920x1080, 30 fps, H.264, 20Mbps bitrate
The video test for battery life uses a 1080p video at 30 fps with a ~20Mbps rate. The battery of Ulefone Note 18 ultra lasted for 15 hours and 11 minutes in this test. The discharging process demonstrates the same behavior as the previous tests. The battery temperature starts at 31°C, increases to 35°C in 30 minutes, and fluctuates around the 33°C-36°C level until the end.
2160p Video at 60 Hz (13 hours and 12 minutes)
3840x2160, 30 fps, H.264, ~55 Mbps bitrate
The 4K video battery life test uses a 2160p video at 30 fps with a ~55 Mbps rate. In this test, the battery of the Ulefone Note 18 Ultra lasted for 13 hours and 12 minutes. The discharging process follows the same pattern as the one during the 1080p video test. The battery temperature starts at 28°C, increases to 35°C in 45 minutes, and fluctuates around the 35°C-36°C level until the end.
3D Graphics/Gaming at 60 Hz (8 hours and 18 minutes)
Real Racing 3
For the 3D Graphics/Gaming test, Real Racing 3 is used. Unsurprisingly, the discharging process has a slow start and is stable until the end. The battery temperature starts at 34°C and gradually increases to 44°C after 7 hours and 10 minutes. After that, it drops to 40°C and goes back up again, measuring 43°C in the end.

Infrared thermography
The above photos of our Ulefone Note 18 Ultra review unit are taken with a FLIR thermal camera. The top one shows the device's temperature during charging. The hottest area of the smartphone is to the right of the selfie camera with a temperature of 42.3°C. The second hottest part is a point right above the center of the display with a temperature of 39.4°C. The bottom photo depicts the device's temperature during our 3D battery life test. In this case, the hottest part of the device is the center of the chin with a temperature of 41.8°C and again the area near the selfie camera with a temperature of 41.3°C.

Battery Software

The Battery menu on the Ulefone Note 18 Pro is quite simple. It provides battery status information, the standard battery saver, and three toggles - for battery management, for the percentage of charge in the status bar icon, and for booting on when the device charges in power off state. The battery saver can also be accessed from the Quick Settings and from the System Manager application.
