Overview

Ulefone Power 5S is the second Ulefone smartphone with a 13000 mAh battery and the second in the world for that matter. The first was its predecessor - the Power 5. This feature alone is enough to raise eyebrows. In addition to that, the device is equipped with a Helio P23 chipset - one of the most power efficient chipsets which powers our current battery life leader - the Oukitel K10 with an 11000 mAh battery. Of course, in this review, we will test the Power 5S battery along with all other features, including the display, performance, camera, audio. But first things first. Specifications

Ulefone Power 5S evolves around a 6-inch IPS display from AU Optronics with an FHD+ resolution (1080 x 2160 pixels). The type of protective glass is not specified. The handset houses a dual-cell 13000 mAh battery which supports MediaTek Pump Express Plus 2.0 and is paired with a 5V/5A fast charger. It also supports 10W Qi wireless charging. Hardware-wise, the model is based on a MediaTek Helio P23 system-on-chip in its slightly downgraded MT6763V variant - with a 2GHz octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU and a 700MHz dual-core Mali-G71 MP2 GPU. The chipset is paired with 4GB of LPDDR4X dual-channel RAM clocked at 1600MHz and 64GB of storage that can be expanded with up to 256GB. The camera department includes an 8MP SuperPix SP8407 selfie shooter, interpolated to 13 megapixels and combined with an f/2.2 lens. It supports face unlock and is combined with a 5MP auxiliary camera. On the back, there are two cameras. The main one packs a 21MP Sony IMX230 sensor paired with a 5-element lens with an f/1.8 aperture. The auxiliary rear camera has a 5MP sensor used only when shooting with bokeh effect. The rear shooters are aided by a dual-LED flash and PDAF. Power 5S features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, LED notification light and a USB Type-C port with OTG support. No 3.5 mm jack. The model supports 2G GSM (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz), 3G W-CDMA (900, 2100 MHz), and 4G FDD-LTE (800, 900, 1800, 2100, 2600 MHz) network bands with LTE speeds being Cat. 7 ones. Dual 4G LTE is supported on both cards simultaneously. The wireless connectivity options of the Ulefone Power 5S include Bluetooth 4.1, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Wi-Fi Display. The smartphone works with GPS and GLONASS and runs on Android 8.1 Oreo.
