Overview

The Samsung Galaxy A52 5G arrived as the successor of one of Samsung's best-selling smartphones for 2020 (the Galaxy A51) and it does not disappoint. The device offers a decent upgrade over its predecessor. It is a reliable workhorse with good battery life, great display, and a decent camera. If you're not into flashy design, this might be one of the best 5G-enabled smartphones you can get for the money in its price segment.

Specifications

The Samsung Galaxy A52 5G has a plastic back with a plastic frame and an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance. It is equipped with a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. It supports a 120 Hz refresh rate and is SGS Certified as well as Eye Care Display certified for being mild to the eyes. The Infinity-O panel has a punch hole placed in the top-center of the screen that houses a 32MP Sony IMX616 camera for selfies with an f/2.2 aperture. On the back, there's a quad-camera module headed by a 64MP Sony IMX682 main shooter with an f/1.8 aperture, 6-element lens, and 4K video recording. The main unit is adjoined by a 12MP Samsung S5K3L6 ultra-wide-angle camera with an f/2.2 aperture, a 5MP macro unit, and a 5MP depth-sensing lens.

The Samsung Galaxy A52 5G houses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G mobile platform built on the 8nm process. The chipset features a 2.2GHz octa-core Kryo 570 CPU and an Adreno 619 GPU. It arrives with select Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite Gaming features, the 5th gen Qualcomm AI Engine, and the Qualcomm Snapdragon X52 modem onboard supports dual-mode 5G with 2x2 MIMO on mmWave and 4x4 MIMO on sub-6 GHz. There are 6GB or 8GB of dual-channel LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage that's expandable. A 4500 mAh battery keeps the lights on and is paired to a 5V/2A~9V/1.67A fast charger.

The Samsung Galaxy A52 5G is equipped with an in-display fingerprint sensor, dual stereo speakers tuned by AKG, a USB Type-C 2.0 port with OTG, and a headphone jack. The smartphone runs on Samsung's ONE UI 3.1 based on Android 11. It supports NFC, Bluetooth 5, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Display, dual-band Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac VHT80 with 2x2 MU-MIMO. The device works with the following network bands: 2G GSM (B2 / B3 / B5 / B8), 3G UMTS (B1 / B2 / B5 / B8, 4G LTE-FDD (B1 / B3 / B5 / B7 / B8), and 5G NSA / SA (n1 / n3 / n41 / n78 / n79).
