Fossibot F106 Pro Review

Rear cameras, photo and video samples

Fossibot F106 Pro has two rear cameras. The main shooter uses a 48MP OmniVision OV48B sensor with a 1/2" optical format and a 0.8 μm pixel format. It is combined with an f/1.8 lens. Thanks to 4-in-1 pixel binning, the camera outputs 12MP photos. It also records 1080p videos at 30 fps. Other smartphones that we have reviewed and use the 48MP OmniVision OV48B sensor for their main cameras are the Ulefone Armor Pad 2, Ulefone Armor 12 5G, and POCO M3 Pro 5G. The camera's job is aided by a very bright dual-LED flashlight.

The second rear camera is a 20MP Sony IMX350 Night Vision unit with an f/1.8 aperture and dual IR lights. We have reviewed many smartphones with the same sensor for Night Vision and the Fossibot F106 Pro does not perform differently.

Selfie camera

The front-facing camera of the Fossibot F106 Pro uses a 16MP Sony IMX417 sensor with a 1/3.1" optical format and an f/1.8 lens with a 73.7° FoV. It outputs 16MP photos and records FHD videos at 30 fps. Facial recognition and unlock are supported. Below we publish several photos shot with the selfie camera.

Camera App

The Camera app is very simplified. You get three shooting modes positioned above the shutter button. The main one is "Picture" and it arrives with a zoom level icon above it, HDR and LED flash toggles, and a settings icon. The latter opens an overlay with toggles for the various settings. The "Video" shooting mode has a similar layout without the HDR toggle. Of course, its list of settings is a bit different. The "Night Vision" toggle switches to the corresponding camera and can only snap photos. The interface for the front camera contains only a "Picture" and a "Video" shooting mode. Photo editing is done by using the Photos app by default. It has Google Lens integrated.
