POCO X4 Pro 5G Review - a 5G stunner with gorgeous design, 67W fast charging, Snapdragon 695 SoC, 120Hz AMOLED display, 108MP camera

Overview

As a Xiaomi smartphone (in its essence), the POCO X4 Pro 5G a.k.a. POCO 2201116PG has become one of the top contenders for the hearts and minds of users who are looking for a snappy and modern 5G device that takes great photos, has a fluent display, and charges super-fast. Not only this, but the POCO X4 Pro is also quite affordable for what it offers. This model is a re-branded Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G but receives POCO's gorgeous design tweaks and specific colors that distinguish any POCO smartphone as such. And don't forget the significantly lower price tag.

Specifications

The POCO X4 Pro 5G is adorned with a 6.67-inch Super AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution (1080 x 2400) and a 120Hz refresh rate. You get the option to switch to 60Hz to save battery life. The official specifications mention 1200 cd/m² of peak brightness, 4.5M:1 contrast, and a 360Hz touch sampling rate. The screen is protected by a 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 5. There's no in-display fingerprint reader. Instead, the sensor is embedded in the power button on the left frame. The punch hole in the top-center of the display houses a 16MP OmniVision OV16A1Q selfie camera with an f/2.25 aperture. On the back, there are three rear shooters. The main one uses a 108MP Samsung S5KHM2 sensor with an f/1.89 lens. It is adjoined by an 8MP Sony IMX355 ultra-wide snapper with a 118° FoV and an f/2.2 aperture. Finally, there's a 2MP GalaxyCore GC02M1 macro camera with an f/2.4 lens.

A Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 (SM6375) Mobile Platform is at the heart of the POCO X4 Pro. Based on the 6nm production node, this system-on-chip features an octa-core Kryo 660 CPU with two 2.2GHz cores and six 1.7GHz cores. The graphics department is managed by a Qualcomm Adreno 619 GPU clocked at 840 MHz. There are 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB or 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage on board. The latter can be further expanded via a microSD card slot on the hybrid SIM tray. Power is supplied by a 5000 mAh battery that supports 67W fast charging. Furthermore, the device is fitted with dual speakers with Hi-Res Audio certification.

The POCO X4 Pro 5G (POCO 2201116PG) supports the following network bands: 2G GSM (B2/3/5/8), 3G W-CDMA (B1/2/4/5/6/8/19), 4G LTE-FDD (B1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/17/18/19/20/26/28), 4G LTE-TDD (B38/40/41), 5G NSA and 5G SA (n1/n3/n5/n7/n8/n20/n28/n38/n40/n41/n77/n78). The EU head SAR value is 0.596 W/kg and the EU body SAR value is 0.956 W/kg. The wireless connectivity options of the model include Bluetooth 5.1, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Wi-Fi Direct, and Wi-Fi Display. The smartphone also arrives with NFC support, an IR blaster, a USB Type-C 2.0 with OTG support, and a headphone jack. In terms of positioning, the model supports GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and Beidou and runs on Global MIUI 13.0.5 based on Android 11.
