Fossibot F102 Review - excellent battery life, good performance, fast display

Overview

Fossibot F102 is the second smartphone of the brand and even a non-detailed look in the specs shows it's a definite upgrade over its predecessor. The fact that this is the brand's second smartphone and third mobile device should not shun you away from it. It is a sister brand of Oukitel and all of Oukitel's experience and expertise in building big-battery rugged smartphones has trickled into Fossibot as well. This is clearly visible from the solid build of the smartphone, the carefully selected specifications and features, and the signature design. Specifications

Fossibot F102 is equipped with an IPS display with a 6.58-inch diagonal size, an FHD+ resolution, and a 120 Hz refresh rate. It has a V-shaped notch for the 32MP Sony IMX616 selfie camera with a 5-element lens and an f/2.0 aperture. The rear camera department comprises three shooters - a 108MP Samsung S5KHM2 main camera with a 6-element lens with an f/1.75 aperture. It is accompanied by a 20MP Sony IMX350 Night Vision camera with an f/1.8 aperture and a 5MP SK Hynix Hi-556 macro camera. The main camera and the Night Vision one are supported by dual LED lights, each. The smartphone is also fitted with a bright camping light and dual stereo speakers. Fossibot F102 is based on the 6nm MediaTek Helio G99 (MT6789) chipset with a 2.2 GHz octa-core CPU and a 1GHz dual-core Mali-G57 GPU. There are 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.1 storage. The RAM can be virtually expanded with up to 8GB and the storage can be expanded via a microSD card. The model has a hybrid, dual-SIM tray for two Nano-SIM cards or a Nano-SIM card and a microSD card. Both SIM cards support 4G connectivity simultaneously. The network bands supported by both cards are as follows: 2G GSM (2/3/5/8), 3G WCDMA (1/2/4/5/6/8), 4G FDD-LTE (B1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/17/18/19/20/25/26/28A/28B/66/71), and 4G TDD-LTE (38/39/40/41). The wireless connectivity options of the model include NFC, Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 5, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Hotspot, and Wi-Fi Display. The smartphone works with GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and Beidou. It is equipped with a USB Type-C port and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The F102 runs on stock Android 13 and is IP68, IP69K, and MIL-STD-810H certified for being resistant to water, dust, sand, drops, extreme temperatures, etc.
