Overview
Cubot Max 2 is created for budget-conscious users who want to enjoy a big screen and long battery life, while not spending tons of money. Indeed, with a 6.8-inch display and a 5000 mAh battery plus a price tag of around USD 146, the Max 2 meets those requirements. Of course, this comes at a cost as the display has a resolution of 640 x 1352 pixels and the body is plastic. Cubot Max 2 is fitted with a 6.8-inch IPS display with a resolution of 640 x 1352 pixels and a 19:9 aspect ratio. The manufacturer states the unit is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The notch is placed in the top right corner and houses an 8MP front-facing camera. Information about the exact sensor of this unit is not available but it is coupled to a 4-element lens with an f/2.2 lens. The frame and back are made of hard polycarbonate. A dual camera module is placed in the top left corner on the back of the handset. It is vertically aligned and houses a 12MP Sony IMX486 main shooter with a 6-element lens and an f/1.8 aperture. It is aided by phase-detection AF, dual 1A flashlight and a 2MP auxiliary snapper for depth sensing. Power is supplied by a 5000 mAh battery that arrives with a 10W fast charger (EU plug). Cubot Max 2 is based on a MediaTek Helio P22 (MT6762) chipset that combined an octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU clocked up to 2GHz and a 650MHz PowerVR GE8320 GPU. There are 4GB of single-channel LPDDR3 RAM on board, clocked at 933MHz and 64GB of eMMC 5.1 storage, expandable with up to 256GB. The smartphone supports dual 4G LTE Cat. 6 and VoLTE with both SIM cards supporting one and the same network bands: 2G GSM (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz), 3G WCDMA (900, 2100 MHz), 3G TD-SCDMA (34/39) and 4G FDD-LTE (800, 900, 1800, 2100, 2600 MHz). In addition, the model supports Bluetooth 4.2, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Wi-Fi Display. In terms of satellite positioning, the model works with GPS and GLONASS, and is equipped with a USB Type-C 2.0 port and a 3.5 mm jack. Cubot Max 2 arrives in a stylish black box with the model name imprinted on the lid in gold-coloured letters. The back of the box lists some of the basic specifications and features of the model.
