Overview

The Cubot X50 belongs to the brand's X series which is meant to be its best in terms of offering better specs while retaining an affordable price. For a price of USD 170-180 per unit, this smartphone offers a 64MP rear camera, a 32MP front-facing one, a big FHD+ display, reasonably-sized battery, reliable chipset, and extras such as NFC support, side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a wide 4G LTE bands coverage.

Specifications

The Cubot X50 is adorned with a 2.5D curved 6.65-inch in-cell IPS display with an FHD+ resolution (1080 x 2400 pixels). Centrally placed at the front's top, there's a punch hole for the selfie camera that uses a 32MP Samsung S5KGD1 / Sony IMX616 sensor. The camera department on the back is headed by a 64MP Samsung S5KGW1 shooter with an f/1.9 aperture. It is adjoined by a 16MP Samsung S5K2P7 ultra-wide camera with a 125° field of view and an f/2.4 aperture. A 5MP Samsung S5K5E2YA macro camera is also available. It has an f/2.2 aperture and supports autofocus. Finally, there's a 0.3MP light-sensing camera as Cubot puts it. It works only for shooting portraits together with the main unit.

The Cubot X50 is based on a MediaTek Helio P60 (MT6771V/CA) chipset. Built on TSMC's 12 nm process, it packs an octa-core CPU with four Cortex-A73 cores and four Cortex-A53 cores, all clocked at 2GHz. A tri-core ARM Mali-G72 MP3 clocked 800 MHz is responsible for the graphic performance. There are 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of expandable storage onboard. The device is powered by a 4500 mAh battery with a 10W charger.

The Cubot X50 is equipped with a hybrid slot for a microSD card and two Nano-SIM cards with both SIM cards supporting 4G LTE and VoLTE simultaneously. The model works with the following network bands: 2G GSM (2/3/5/8), 3G WCDMA (1/2/4/5/8), 4G FDD-LTE (1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/17/19/20/28/66). The wireless connectivity options of the Cubot X50 include full NFC support, Bluetooth 5, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Wi-Fi Display. The smartphone also supports GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, and is equipped with a USB Type-C 2.0 port with OTG support. It runs on Android 11.
