Oukitel WP27 Review - lovely design, excellent battery life, and reliable performance in an affordable package

Rear cameras, photo and video samples

Oukitel WP27 is equipped with three rear cameras. The main camera uses a 64MP Samsung S5KGW3SP13-FGX9 sensor with a 1/1.97" optical format and a 0.7 μm pixel size. It is paired with an f/1.8 lens with an 81° field of view. The main camera records 2K videos at 30 fps and FHD videos at 60 fps. The second rear camera is a 20MP Sony IMX350 Night Vision camera with an f/1.8 aperture and four IR lights. Finally, there's the 2MP GalaxyCore GC02M2 macro lens, which Oukitel calls "micro". It has a 1/5" optical format, an f/2.4 lens, and an 81.4° FoV. Below we provide photo and video samples shot with the main camera.

Selfie camera

The front-facing camera of the Oukitel WP27 uses a 16MP SK Hynix Hi-1634Q sensor and an f/2.0 lens with a 76.0° FoV. It can record FHD videos at 30 fps.

Camera App

The Camera app is very simple. The default shooting mode is "Photo" with options for AI on/off and flash on/off/auto. The cog icon in the top right corners opens the camera settings with toggles for the grid line, shutter sound, ZSD, and watermark. with the "Photo" mode, the camera snaps 16MP photos. You have to choose the "64M" mode to take advantage of the full sensor resolution. The "Portrait" shooting mode lets you adjust the strength of the background blur when shooting portraits. It uses the main camera with a 16MP resolution. The "Video" mode has the usual settings plus an EIS toggle, a mic toggle, and video resolution. "QR" stands for a QR code scanner. "Infrared" is the mode that switches to the Night Vision camera. With it, you can only snap photos and not videos. "HDR" mode is also present, along with a "Beauty" one. The latter allows you to adjust the degree of several beautification properties. The "Micro" mode switches to the macro camera. The "Extra" one opens the additional modes such as Night, Long Exposure, Panorama, and Pro. The "Pro" mode let you adjust the ISO, exposure compensation, and white balance. The interface for the front camera is largely the same reflecting features that only the front camera is capable of. You get only four modes - "Photo", "Video", "Beauty", and "Portrait". The camera settings are without change. Photo editing is done via the default Photos app, which has Google Lens integrated. From here you can enhance, warm or cool an image, adjust its brightness, contrast, white point, highlights and other properties, crop, add filter, text, or markup.
