UMIDIGI F1 Review
You can buy an UMIDIGI F1 from various stores such as the official UMIDIGI Store on AliExpress, the official store on Amazon DE or UMIDIGI's own online shop.

Design, build and controls

UMIDIGI F1 has a classic design according to the latest trends with the only exception being the back cover which has lately been replaced by an all-glass design for higher-mid-range and flagship smartphones. This time UMIDIGI has used hard plastic with a fine rubberized coating which is quite pleasant to the touch, does not attract fingerprints and is not slippery at all. The rear panel encloses the plastic display casing, which protrudes slightly from the edge of the frame. The rear edges are smoothly curved on all four sides for improved ergonomics and tactile experience. The handset is available in black, red and gold colours. We are reviewing a black unit. There are not so many smartphones on the global market that combine a 6.3-inch display and a 5000+ mAh battery. UMIDIGI F1 is one of them and even if you compared it with smartphones that have a smaller battery, it still looks like it has quite a compact body for this display size class. In width, the model measures 74.3 mm which is below average for smartphones with 6.3-inch displays. The handset is 156.9 mm high, which is also below average for this class of mobile devices. The thickness (8.8 mm) and weight (186 g) are typical for this size-class and adding in the fact that the battery inside has a 5150 mAh capacity makes you realize that UMIDIGI has done a great job in optimizing internal space and design. The front of UMIDIGI F1 is covered with a 2.5D curved glass and is occupied mainly by the display, which takes 83.85% of it. The screen has a waterdrop notch, slim side bezels as well as minimalist top and bottom ones. The earpiece is a small slit between the display casing and the frame. The notch houses the 16MP front camera and the light and proximity sensors. The "chin" is relatively thin and the navigation bar is onscreen only. You can customize it by docking it or making it hideable, swapping the places of the Menu and Back buttons. You can also disable it entirely and use onscreen gestures instead. The back of the handset houses a dual camera module, vertically aligned in the top left corner and including a dual-tone LED flash placed between the two lenses. There's a classic round fingerprint sensor placed in the centre of the top half of the body. The bottom half features UMIDIGI's logo and the standard certification data. The top frame is bare with most of the elements placed on the bottom one. There you will see the USB Type-C 2.0 port with two bolts on its sides. To the right, there's the speaker covered with a grille and to the left of it, there is the microphone hole and 3.5 mm jack. The hybrid, dual-SIM card tray is positioned on the left frame. It can house either two Nano-SIM cards or a Nano-SIM card and a microSD card. On the right frame, the Volume and Power buttons are placed. Both are made of metal and body-coloured, offering a satisfying tactile experience. Here's a UMIDIGI F1 teardown video:
