Overview

We continue our series of reviews of the much-praises Ulefone Armor rugged smartphones with the Armor 10 5G 5G, Ulefone's second 5G smartphone. This smartphone offers a classic mid-range package at a reasonable price and being 5G-enabled, it is not only environmentally proof but also future-proof. Specifications

The Ulefone Armor 10 5G is built around a 6.67-inch IPS display with an FHD+ resolution (1080 x 2400 pixels). The glass has an oleophobic coating and also supports Glove Mode. The rugged body is IP68 and IP69K rated for water and dust resistance and has a MIL-STD-810G certification for resistance to drops, shock, pressure, humidity, acidic atmosphere, temperature extremes, and similar types of impact. The 16MP Samsung S5K3P9 front-facing camera resides in a punch hole, centrally placed at the top of the display. It has an f/2.2 aperture and a 5-element lens. The rear camera module comprises a 64MP Samsung S5KGW1 main camera with an f/1.89 aperture, 79.8° FoV. It is adjoined by an 8MP ultra-wide snapper with a 1/4" sensor, 1.12 μm pixel size, 118.8° FoV, an f/2.2 aperture, and by a 5MP SK Hynix HI552 macro shooter with an f/2.8 aperture and a 70° FoV. Finally, there's a 2MP GalaxyCore GC2385 depth-sensing unit used for shooting portraits.

A 5800 mAh battery with 18W fast charging powers the smartphone and also supports 10W wireless charging. Ulefone specifies that it would last for 17 hours of talking and 605 hours of standby. A MediaTek Dimensity 800 (MT6873) chipset ticks under the hood. Built on TSMC's 7 nm process, it packs an octa-core CPU with four 2GHz Cortex-A73 cores and four 2GHz Cortex-A53 cores. A quad-core ARM Mali-G57 GPU handles the graphics department. There are 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of storage onboard. The latter can be expanded up to 2TB.

The Ulefone Armor 10 5G has a hybrid, dual Nano-SIM tray with both SIM cards supporting 5G. The network bands supported by both cards are as follows: 2G GSM (2/3/5/8), 2.5G CDMA (BC0/BC1), 3G WCDMA (1/2/4/5/6/8/19), 4G TDD-LTE (34/38/39/40/41), 4G FDD-LTE (B1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/13/17/18/19/20/25/26/28A/28B/66), and 5G NR (N1/3/41/77/78/79). The wireless connectivity options of the model include Bluetooth 5, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Wi-Fi Display. The smartphone also supports NFC and works with GPS, GLONASS, and Beidou. The device has a USB Type-C port and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. It runs on Android 10 with Ulefone's overlay on top.

What's in the box

The Ulefone Armor 10 5G arrives in a rectangular box with Ulefone's distinctive yellow color and an industrial-style print to convey the idea of endurance, toughness, etc. The brand and model names are imprinted on the lid.
