Oukitel WP19 Review - exceptional battery life, great display, solid performance

Overview

Oukitel WP19 will definitely remain in the history of smartphones as the first model with a 21000 mAh battery - the biggest one so far. Moreover, it is paired with 33W fast charging capability - a rarity for rugged smartphones. Besides amazing battery life, this model has other qualities that also deserve attention - a beautiful and bright display that's very responsive and fast with a 90Hz refresh rate; a snappy chipset offering stable performance; a good set of cameras with 4K video recording and Night Vision that's suitable for various scenarios. On top of that, the handset offers IP68, IP69, and military certifications for being able to withstand harsh environments. All this sums up a device, which is not a mere powerbank but a smartphone of many merits. Specifications

Oukitel WP19 shares lots of its specifications with the WP17. Including the display, camera department, and chipset. The display uses a 6.78-inch in-cell IPS panel with a resolution of 1080 x 2460 pixels and а 90 Hz refresh rate. A Corning Gorilla Glass 3 is on top for protection. The selfie camera resides in a punch hole centrally placed in the top area of the display. It employs a 16MP SK Hynix Hi-1634 sensor and a 5-element lens with an f/2.0 aperture and a 77° FoV. On the back, there are three cameras, a dual-LED flash, and a quad-IR module. The main camera uses a 64MP Samsung S5KGW3 sensor with a 6-element lens, f/1.79 aperture, and an 81° FoV. It is adjoined by a 2MP GalaxyCore GC02M2 macro camera with an f/2.4 aperture, 3-element lens, and an 84° FoV. The main and macro cameras are aided by a dual-LED flash. Finally, there's the 20MP Sony IMX350 Night Vision camera (black and white) with an f/1.8 aperture, 78° FoV, and a 6-element lens.

The Oukitel WP19 is based on the 12nm MediaTek Helio G95 (MT6785V/CD) chipset with a 2.05 GHz octa-core CPU and a 900MHz quad-core Mali-G76 GPU. The SoC is paired with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of expandable UFS 2.1 storage. Power is supplied by a 21000 mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. The Oukitel WP19 has a triple tray for two Nano-SIM cards and a dedicated slot for a microSD card. Both cards support 4G connectivity simultaneously. The network bands supported by both cards are as follows: 2G GSM (2/3/5/8), 3G WCDMA (1/2/4/5/8), 4G TDD-LTE (38/40/41), and 4G FDD-LTE (1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/13/17/18/19/20/25/26/28A/28B/66). The wireless connectivity options of the model include Bluetooth 5, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Hotspot, and Wi-Fi Display. The smartphone also supports NFC and works with GPS, GLONASS, and Beidou. The device has a USB Type-C port, a 3.5 mm jack, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. It runs on almost stock Android 12. As a real rugged smartphone, the WP19 is IP68, IP69K, and MIL-STD-810G certified.

What's in the box

The Oukitel WP19 arrives in a flat white box with the brand's name on the lid. On the back, there are stickers with the main specs and certifications of the model. Inside, the device is placed on the left-hand side with a pre-applied screen protector. The right-hand side is occupied by the USB-C charger and USB-C cable.
