Rear cameras, photo and video samples

Ulefone Armor 24 is equipped with two rear cameras. The main unit uses a 64MP Sony IMX686 sensor with a 1/1.72" optical format and a 0.8 μm pixel size. It is paired with a 6-element lens with an f/1.89 aperture and a 79.8° field of view. It also records 2K videos at 30 fps. Exactly the same sensor and lens setup has been used by two previous models of the brand - Ulefone Armor 22 and Ulefone Armor 21. This sensor's performance can also be checked on the Redmi K30. The second rear camera of the Armor 24 is a Night Vision one using the 64MP OmniVision OV64B sensor. This shooter has an f/1.79 aperture and a 79.8° FoV. It is aided by two IR lights, supports autofocus, and can record FHD videos. This sensor has also been used by the Night Vision camera of the Ulefone Armor 22 and the 8849 Tank 2 by Unihertz.

Camera App

If you have used previous Ulefone models, you must be familiar with the Camera app layout. The top of the screen houses the various options for each shooting mode, while the shooting modes reel at the lower part of the screen above the shutter button. The latter has a shortcut to the Google Photos app on its left and two shortcuts to its right - to Google Lens for immediate search, and the switch to and from the selfie camera. There's also a zoom slider (1x - 4x) along the right side of the screen. The default shooting mode is the "Photo" one with options for switching on/off the flash, HDR, AI, filters, and a shortcut to the settings which include photo size, watermark, location info, self-timer, grid line, etc. By default, this mode yields 16MP photos. The second shooting mode is "Video" with a single option for switching on/off the flash and the shortcut to its specific settings with video quality, microphone, camera mute, etc.

The "Night Vision" shooting mode switches to the Night Vision camera and the far right shortcut is now replaced by the video recording button. The photo-snapping feature allows you to set several filters and the photo size, while the video recording feature lets you select the video resolution, microphone, camera mute, etc. The "Film" shooting mode lets you choose from a number of filters that add a cinematic effect to your videos. If you want to take photos with the sensor's original resolution, you have to select the "64MP" shooting mode. Finally, there's a "More" tab from where you can access Night Mode, Gif, Portrait, Pro Mode, Panorama, Slow Motion, Time Laps, Intelligent Scanning (QR code scanner). The Night Mode uses the main camera. The Portrait Mode lets you adjust the aperture level for a different level of background blur and adjust various beautification features. The Pro Mode lets you adjust eh white balance, ISO, aperture, shutter speed, and focus style.
The interface for the front camera is identical to that of the front camera with fewer options for the "Photo" shooting mode. You get the same camera settings for shooting photos and videos. The "Portrait" mode for the front camera also has the same aperture and beautification level bars. All other modes are used by the rear cameras and whenever you select a mode that's not supported by the front camera, you're automatically transferred to the rear ones. There are also options for you to customize the Camera app. You can set which shooting modes to appear in the reel and the "More" tab and which not. You can also select the main theme color and the camera sound.

If you want to edit photos, you can do so with the Google Photos app. It offers the usual "Suggestions" with Enhance, Warm, and Cool options, Crop options, and image properties adjustment - brightness, contrast, white point, highlights, shadows, etc. You can also use filters, markups, text, and other elements. Google Lens is embedded here as well for convenient search by image, translating, shopping, and searching for text.
