Oukitel K10 Review

Overview

With a refined design, build, materials and specifications, Oukitel K10 is definitely a serious upgrade over the previous smartphones from the K10000 line-up. The model combines a modern and very power efficient chipset with an 11000 mAh battery and a new 5V/5A charger. It also follows the latest full-screen and dual camera trends while inheriting the leather back from the K10000 Pro. All this is packaged in a taller and wider but a tad thinner and lighter body compared to that of the K10000 devices. We've been definitely curious about the model's design, performance, and mainly battery life and all our findings are presented in the following review.

Specifications

Oukitel K10 is adorned by a 6-inch in-cell IPS display from AU Optronics. It has an FHD+ resolution (1080 x 2160 pixels) and a prismatic curved Asahi Dragontrail glass. The metal frame is made of magnesium alloy and is surrounded by a polycarbonate bumper, while the back is covered with an Australian calf leather. The device is powered by an 11000 (typ)/10000 (min) mAh battery from SCUD coupled with a 25W fast charger (5V/5A). The accumulator promises up to 1008 hours of standby time and the charger is capable of charging the battery in full for 2 hours and 15 minutes. Under the leather hood, a MediaTek Helio P23 (MT6763) chipset ticks. It uses TSMC's 16nm process and features an octa-core CPU with four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2GHz and another four of those ticking at 1.5GHz. The graphics department is managed by a dual-core 700MHz Mali-G71 MP2 GPU with Vulkan support. The system-on-chip is combined with 6GB of dual-channel LPDDR4X RAM clocked at 1600MHz and 64GB of storage. The latter can be expanded with up to 128GB. The model supports 2G GSM (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz), 3G WCDMA (900, 2100 MHz), and 4G LTE-FDD (800, 900, 1800, 2100, 2600 MHz) network bands with Cat. 6 speeds. The wireless connectivity options include full-blown NFC, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Display, and Bluetooth 4.2. The camera department includes two front and two rear shooters. The rear dual module includes a 16MP Samsung S5K3P3 camera, interpolated to 21MP. The auxiliary rear snapper has a 2MP sensor, interpolated to 8 megapixels. The front-facing dual module packs an 8MP Hynix Hi-846 sensor, interpolated to 13MP and a 2MP auxiliary snapper, interpolated to 8MP. On the front and back there is a dual-tone LED and a single-LED flash, respectively. The device is equipped with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, a USB Type-C 2.0 port with OTG support, and no 3.5 mm jack. The smartphone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with Oukitel's subtle overlay.

What's in the box

Oukitel K10 is placed in a flat, rectangular, black box with a textured surface, the brand name imprinted on its sides and the model name on the top. The smartphone lies on the left-hand side of the top level compartment with a transparent silicon case on its back. Under it, you will see an envelope with the standard documentation and SIM tray pin, while on the right there are two boxes - one with the charger and one with three cables.
