OnePlus 6 Review

Overview
OnePlus has proven over time that it listens to its buyers and not only this - every following product from the company is created largely based on feedback from the loyal fans of the brand. Every 1+ smartphone has straightforward features, both hardware and software ones, that create its distinctive appearance. In addition, every successive model also provides an added value compared to its predecessor while retaining the same reasonable price that's significantly less than the one of its competitors. With the OnePlus 6 you get first-class display and performance, impeccable design, the fastest battery charging, and upgraded main camera. You won't find here expandable storage, wireless charging, and officially rated IP water and dust resistance. Following is our in-depth review of the model in its 8GB+256GB variant, midnight black colour.Specifications
OnePlus 6 (A6000, A6003) features a 6.28-inch Optic AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution (1080 x 2280 pixels) and a 19:9 aspect ratio. It is protected by a 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The same glass but 3D curved is used for the back cover and in between them, there's an anodized aluminium frame. The device is powered by a 3300 mAh battery - the same one found on OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T. Of course, it is coupled with a 5V/4A DASH charger. The biggest update in 1+6 is the chipset. The smartphone is based on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 mobile platform that houses four 2.8GHz Kryo 385 (gold) CPU cores and four 1.8GHz Kryo 385 (silver) CPU cores. The graphics department is managed by a 710MHz Adreno 630 chipset. There are either 6GB or 8GB of dual-channel LPDDR4X RAM onboard clocked at 1866MHz. The UFS 2.1 2-LANE storage can be 64GB, 128GB or 256GB. The OnePlus 6 supports 40 network bands across the globe (that's five more compared to the 1+5T), 4G LTE Cat. 16/Cat. 13 speeds with 4X4 MIMO, VoLTE, NFC with Android Beam and Tap & Pay, Bluetooth 5 with aptX & aptX HD support, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac with 2x2 MU-MIMO, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Display. There's no radio, but the device is equipped with a 3.5 mm jack and a USB Type-C 2.0 that supports OTG and USB Audio. The model works with all satellite positioning systems currently available: GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo. The audio setup includes Dirac HD Sound, Dirac Power Sound, noise cancellation support, a single bottom-facing speaker. OnePlus 6 has two rear cameras like its predecessor but has upgraded the main rear shooter. It now packs a 16MP Sony IMX519 sensor with an f/1.7 lens, DCAF, OIS, and EIS. The second rear camera features the 20MP Sony IMX376 with an f/1.7 lens and PDAF. Both are aided by a dual-LED flash. The selfie camera is the same as the one on the 1+5T - a 16MP Sony IMX371 sensor and an f/2.0 lens. There's a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor from Fingerprint Cards/Goodix. OnePlus smartphones arrive either with Oxygen OS (international version) or Hydrogen OS (China version). Our OnePlus 6 review unit runs on Oxygen OS 5.1 based on Android 8.1 Oreo.Full OnePlus 6 (A6000, A6003) specifications.
What's in the box
The packaging and box contents offer no surprises. OnePlus 6 is placed inside the signature 1+ box with a red body and a white lid that has a big 6 on top. While the OnePlus 5 box bore the "Dual camera. Clearer photos" slogan and the OnePlus 5T had "A New View" slogan, the OnePlus 6T has "The Speed You Need" sign. The smartphone lies in a solid plastic "bed" that's part of a thick red envelope containing a number of accessories. Below them, the DASH charger and the red USB Type-C data cable are positioned. Here's a detailed list of the box contents:
- 5V/4A DASH charger (EU plug)
- USB Type-C data cable
- SIM tray pin
- Pre-applied screen protector
- Transparent silicone case in dark grey colour
- Quick start guide
- Safety information
