Overview

Announced in June earlier this year, the KIICAA series sounds like it has the potential to make Leagoo one of the interesting players on the smartphone market this fall. The first two models from the series are the KIICAA Power and KIICAA MIX. The first intends to rival other smartphones with 4000 mAh batteries, while the KIICAA MIX, well it's obvious, competes with other Xiaomi Mi MIX wannabes. The device arrives with quite an attractive price tag - USD 110, and promising features the bundle of which usually costs more. Definitely, this is one of the MIX smartphones that attracts lots of attention, so here's our detailed review of the model that includes the usual research on details, measurements, tests and benchmarks that unveil its true essence and worth.

Specifications

Leagoo KIICAA MIX sports a 5.5-inch IPS display with an FHD resolution (1080 x 1920 pixels) protected by a 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 4. Hardware-wise, the handset is based on a 64-bit MediaTek MT6750T chipset manufactured after the 28nm process. It consists of two four-core CPU clusters all featuring Cortex-A53 cores. The first quadruplet is clocked at 1.5GHz and the second - at 1GHz. A dual-core 650MHz Mali-T860 MP2 GPU handles the graphics. There are 3GB of single-channel, LPDDR3 RAM clocked at 833 MHz on board coupled with 32GB of eMMC internal memory that can be expanded with up to 32GB. This system-on-chip brings LTE Cat. 6 speeds and VoLTE, along with support for the following network bands: 2G GSM (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz), 3G W-CDMA (850, 900, 2100 MHz), 4G FDD-LTE (800, 850, 900, 1800, 2100, 2600 MHz) and 4G TDD-LTE 2300 MHz (B40). In addition, the model supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi calling, Cast display, Bluetooth 4.0. It works with GPS, A-GPS, and GLONASS. The device is equipped with a USB Type-C 2.0 port. No OTG support and no 3.5 mm jack. Leagoo KIICAA MIX is equipped with an 8MP OmniVision OV8856 rear camera aided by a VGA SP0A09 rear shooter. The first is interpolated to 13MP, while the second - to 2MP. The OV sensor is coupled with a 4-element lens with an f/2.2 aperture, and dual LED flash. On the front, the same 8MP OV8856 sensor sits, interpolated to 13MP as well. In works together with a 4-element lens with an f/2.2 aperture. A front-mounted fingerprint sensor, bottom and top-firing speaker, a 3000 mAh battery are provided as well. The handset runs on Leagoo Freeme OS based on Android 7.0 Nougat. What's in the box

Leagoo KIICAA MIX is placed inside a standard rectangular box with a lid that has a photo from space imprinted on it including the device with its screen turned on unveiling endless vision, the model name and slogan - To Hold The Big World, and the Leagoo logo as an official mobile phone partner of the Tottenham Hotspur football team. The two long sides of the lid have the same logo, while the bottom short one has the usual data about the model's specifications and certifications. The phone lies in the top level compartment and has a pre-installed screen protector. Under the device you will find:
