Overview

The Doogee N40 Pro is a lower mid-range smartphone that impresses with good looks, pleasant display, good camera, reasonable performance, and excellent battery life. The device offers a well-balanced package of specs and an affordable price for an appealing price/quality ratio.

Specifications

The Doogee N40 Pro has a 2.5D curved 6.52-inch IPS display with an HD+ resolution (720 x 1600 pixels). The manufacturer specifies 500 cd/m² of brightness and a 1500:1 static contrast ratio. The V-shaped notch houses the 16MP Samsung S5K3P3 selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture. The rear camera module comprises four shooters. The main one uses a 20MP Sony IMX350 sensor and a 6-element lens with an f/2.2 aperture. There's a 5MP GalaxyCore GC5035 ultra-wide camera that is also used for macro shots. The other two sensors remain a mystery and are most probably used for depth sensing.

The Doogee N40 Pro is based on a MediaTek Helio P60 (MT6771V/W) chipset. Built on TSMC's 12 nm process, it packs an octa-core CPU with four Cortex-A73 cores and four Cortex-A53 cores, all clocked at 2GHz. A tri-core ARM Mali-G72 MP3 clocked 800 MHz is responsible for the graphic performance. There are 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage onboard. The latter can be expanded with up to 256GB via a microSD card. A 6380 mAh battery keeps the lights on paired with a 24W fast charger in the box.

The Doogee N40 Pro has a hybrid slot for a microSD card and two Nano-SIM cards with both SIM cards supporting 4G LTE and VoLTE simultaneously. The model works with the following network bands: 2G GSM (2/3/5/8), 3G WCDMA (1/8), 4G FDD-LTE (1/3/7/8/20/40). The wireless connectivity options of the Doogee N40 Pro include Bluetooth 4.2, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Wi-Fi Display. The smartphone also supports GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, and is equipped with a USB Type-C 2.0 port with OTG support. It runs on almost stock Android 11.
