Oukitel WP15 Review - stunning battery life, 5G, and rugged design
You can buy an Oukitel WP15 at promotional prices from Oukitel's official store.

Primary camera

The Oukitel WP15 features three rear cameras. The main one is equipped with a 48MP Sony IMX582 sensor with an f/1.79 aperture. This sensor has a 1/2" optical format and 0.8 μm pixels. The main camera has a 75° FoV, snaps 48MP photos, and shoots FHD videos at 30 fps. Other smartphones that we have reviewed and that use a Sony IMX582 sensor for their main cameras are the Ulefone Armor 11T 5G, Oukitel WP13, Doogee S95 Pro, Xiaomi Mi 9T/Redmi K20.

The main shooter is adjoined by a 2MP macro camera with a 2-4 cm fixed focus and a GalaxyCore GC02M2 sensor with a 1/5" optical format and 1.75 μm pixels. The camera has an f/1.79 aperture and a 76-degree FoV. Finally, there's the VGA GalaxyCore GC032A lens for a bokeh effect when shooting portraits.

Secondary camera

The front-facing camera of the Oukitel WP15 uses an 8MP Sony IMX314 sensor of which nothing is known. The same sensor is speculated to power the front camera of the WP13 and the hardware reporting apps detect an OmniVision OV8858 alternative. This sensor has 1.12 µm pixels and a 1/4" optical format. The camera takes photos with a resolution of 3264 x 2448 pixels and shoots 1080p videos at 30 fps.

Camera App

The Camera app of the Oukitel WP15 has all the necessary features a standard smartphone uses today. The layout is simple with most of the functions a click or two away. Above the three buttons at the bottom of the main screen (shortcut to Photos, Shutter, Camera switch), there's a reel with the most important shooting modes. "Picture" is the default one and with it, you can snap 48MP photos. It allows you to shoot in HDR, edit the ISO, white balance, choose a scene mode, etc. Next to it, there's the Face Beauty mode with beautification features for portraits. It is followed further to the left by the Video shooting mode, for which you can also set up the white balance, video resolution, scene mode, etc. The Bokeh mode is placed to the right of the "Picture" one. This one uses the depth sensor to create a bokeh effect when shooting portraits. There's a slider for adjusting the extent of the blur effect. The Macro mode, of course, switches to the 2MP macro camera. "More" comprises the Pro mode, Mono, Night, QR Scanner, and HDR shooting. The "Pro" one allows you to manually adjust only the ISO, exposure, and white balance. You can choose which shooting modes appear in this reel and which do not. This is done from the "Capturemode" option in the camera settings.
With the front camera, you can only shoot photos, videos, FaceBeauty portraits, and Mono photos. The Picture mode allows you to snap 8MP photos and use the screen as a flash. The front camera settings also include touch shooting and mirror camera. The Video mode lets you record FHD videos at 30 fps. The Face Beauty mode allows you to adjust the beatification features. The images can be opened and edited with the Photos app by default. Among all other features, it also has Google Lens integrated. This app helps you snap a photo of an object and look on the internet in order to recognize it. Or you can simply point at a text and use the app for on-image translation to a language of your choice.
