Gigabyte has increased its portfolio of Android smartphones with three new devices. The first is the high-end GSmart Guru GX
featuring a 5-inch IPS display with a 1080p resolution and 441ppi pixel density. The screen is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and is part of an overall thin body with a waistline of 7 mm. Under the hood ticks a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC with a 1.5GHz octa-core CPU and an Adreno 405 GPU. They are coupled with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. Supported networks include quad-band 2G GSM, dual-band 3G UMTS and tri-band 4G LTE. On the back is mounted a 13-megapixel Sony Exmor RS camera, while on the front sits a 5-megapixel unit. The device is powered by a 2400 mAh battery providing up to 14 hours of talk time and 200 hours of stand-by time. The smartphone runs Android 4.4 KitKat and will be available for purchase in March.
The GSmart Mika MX
is a mid-range smartphone with a 5-inch display and a rather lowly resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. It is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 MSM8916 chipset featuring a 1.2GHz quad-core Cortex-A53 CPU and an Adreno 306 GPU. These are paired with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage. The smartphone is dual-SIM and supports 3G and 4G LTE Cat. 4 networks. It is provided with a 5MP rear camera and a 2MP front snapper as well as with a 3000 mAh battery that ensures up to 20 hours of talk time. Running Android 4.4 KitKat, the device will hit the market in February.

also has a 5-inch diagonal size but with even lower resolution of 480 x 854 pixels. Yes, this is an entry-level smartphone and arrives with a MediaTek MT6582 chipset that has a 1.3GHz quad-core CPU and a Mali-400 MP2 GPU. The RAM is not so good at 512MB as well as the storage, which is 4GB (expandable). The rest of the specifications include a 5MP rear camera, a VGA front shooter and a 2000 mAh battery. This device is also expected to launch in February. Pricing is not disclosed.
Gigabyte released four new models from its GSmart series, all based on Android.
