Unihertz Tank Review - a new contender for the battery autonomy leader title
You can buy a Unihertz Tank at promotional prices from Unihertz Official Website or Unihertz's Official Store on AliExpress.

Primary camera

Unihertz Tank is equipped with three rear cameras. The main one uses a 108MP Samsung S5KHM2 sensor with a 1/1.52" optical format and a 0.7 μm pixel size that becomes 2.1 μm thanks to 9-in-1 pixel binning. The lens has an f/1.75 aperture. By default, the camera snaps 12MP photos. You have to select 108MP from the camera settings in order to shoot in this resolution. In terms of video, the main camera can record QHD videos at 30 fps with EIS support. The second camera is a 2MP OmniVision OV2680 macro unit. The two cameras are aided by a dual-tone LED flash.

The third rear camera is the 20MP Night Vision camera. It uses a Sony IMX350 sensor, which has a 1/2.78" optical format and 1.0 μm pixels. The camera outputs 20MP black-and-white photos aided by the dual infrared lights. Infrared light cannot be detected by the human eye but it emits enough light to be refracted by objects and enable night-time vision. You can shoot night vision photos and videos, or simply use this mode to find your way in a pitch-dark environment when you check what's around you on the display with the Night Vision mode on.

Other smartphones that we have reviewed and use the 108MP Samsung S5KHM2 sensor for their main cameras are the Doogee S100, Ulefone Power Armor 19, Ulefone Power Armor 18T, Ulefone Armor 17 Pro, Doogee V30, and the POCO X4 Pro 5G.

Selfie camera

The front-facing camera of the Unihertz Tank uses a 32MP Samsung S5KGD1 ISOCELL sensor with a 1/2.8" optical format and 0.8 μm pixels. It is paired with an f/2.0 lens. By default, the front camera snaps 8MP photos. You have to explicitly select 32MP from the front camera settings to take photos in this resolution. It can also shoot FHD videos at 30 fps.

Camera App

The Camera app is quite simple with a classic layout. Above the shutter button, there are four shooting modes with a "More" tab. The default one is called Normal and from here you can access the LED flash settings and photo shooting settings. The latter includes a RAW format toggle, self-timer, picture resolution, and various toggles - ZSD toggle, anti-flicker, auto screen brightness, location, and key mode with the Volume Up and Down buttons. The second shooting mode is Video, again with options for the LED flash and video recording settings. The latter includes a selection of scene modes, toggles for EIS, microphone, 60 fps shooting, video format, video resolution, etc. Timelapse is the third shooting mode with an option of up to FHD videos. The Pro mode is fourth and allows ISO, white balance, and exposure adjustment. The More tab opens the Macro mode, which switches to the macro camera, and the Infrared and Infrared Video modes, which switch to the Night Vision camera.
The interface for the front camera is largely the same. There is no Pro, Macro, and Infrared shooting mode. The settings for the available shooting modes are the same as the ones for the rear camera with the addition of a Mirror toggle for selfies. The Photos app is the default application to open and edit a photo. It arrives with Google Lens integrated.
