Rear cameras, photo and video samples

Ulefone Armor 21 has two rear cameras. The main camera uses a 64MP Sony IMX686 sensor with a 0.8 μm pixel size. It is paired with a 6-element lens with an f/1.9 aperture and an 85° field of view. It also records 2K videos at 30 fps. The only other smartphone that we have reviewed and uses the same sensor is the Redmi K30. The second rear camera of the Armor 21 is a Night Vision one - one of the first to switch to the 24MP OmniVision OV24A1B sensor. This shooter has an f/1.8 aperture and a 78.1° FoV. It is aided by two IR lights and can record FHD videos. Below we provide photo and video samples shot with the main camera.

Selfie camera

The front-facing camera of the Ulefone Armor 21 uses a 16MP Sony IMX481 sensor with 1.2μm pixels. It is paired with a 5-element lens with an f/2.2 aperture and a 76.6° FoV. It can record 2K videos at 30 fps.

Camera App

The Camera app is already well-known among other Ulefone smartphones. You get the three large buttons at the bottom with the shutter being the largest. The set of shooting modes appears in a real above them that can be moved left and right. The default shooting mode is called Picture and supports AI. The camera settings appear as an overlay on the screen. You can activate gridlines, hide the watermark, select a different resolution, etc. The Video shooting mode is to the left of the Picture one and its settings allow you to choose the video resolution, enable/disable the microphone and shutter sound, etc. The Microscope mode automatically activates a 30x zoom and the macro lens. The Beauty mode uses the main camera with options for manual adjustment of the general beautification feature level and separate elements such as buffing, slimming, whitening, etc. The High-Res mode uses the main camera and shoots with the sensor's original 108MP resolution. The More tab opens a list of additional shooting modes - Pro, Portrait, Gif, Panorama, Mono, Bokeh, and QR code scanning. The Pro mode allows for manual adjustment of the white balance, ISO, exposure, focus style, and shutter speed. The Bokeh mode lets you adjust the aperture i.e. background blur when making portraits.
The interface for the front camera is largely the same reflecting features that only the front camera is capable of. You get only four modes - Picture, Video, Beauty, and More. The "More" mode is limited to Gif and Mono. In case you to edit a photo you can do so either with the Photos app or the Gallery app - it depends on which one you find more convenient. The Photos app has also Google Lens embedded.
