Doogee BL7000 Review
You can buy a Doogee BL7000 at a promotional price from here or here.

OS, UI and software

Doogee BL7000 arrives with stock Android 7.0 Nougat on board and holds no surprises, especially if you have prior experience with Android 6.0 and Android N. The Lock screen contains shortcuts to the Voice search (left) and the Camera (right). A swipe up lands you on the Home screen, which contains a Google search and a Clock widget, a Google services folder with three favourite apps on top of four docked apps with an App Tray in the middle. The Notifications and Quick Settings are the usual ones you're already familiar with. The latter only omit the User settings icon. A long touch on an empty space on the home screen opens the Widgets menu with a choice of wallpapers and widgets and a shortcut to the Settings. A single tap on the Menu button from the navigation bar opens the Task Manager. It lets you lock/unlock apps from clearing, enter/exit split screen mode and clean all applications to free RAM if needed. The Volume shade is the standard one, so is the Power off menu, but it contains one additional feature called Super Saver. If you select it, the phone enters a super battery saving mode, with which you can only use the Phone, Contacts and Messenger apps. An icon in the top right corner of the interface of that mode allows you to exit it.
Doogee BL7000 contains all Google applications you'd expect, the default Android ones and a couple of other popular apps. The full list can be accessed from the App Tray on the Home screen. All applications are listed in alphabetic order on one screen with a search bar on the top. If you install new apps, they will appear in this list and on screens successive to the home one. The Google services are also grouped in a folder on the Home screen. They contain Chrome, Drive, Duo, Gmail, Google, Maps, Photos, Play Music, Play Store, Voice Search, YouTube. The default Android apps include - Browser, Calculator, Calendar, Camera, Clock, Contacts, Downloads, Email, File Manager, FM Radio, Gallery, Messenger, Music, Phone, Sound Recorder. The two additional apps include the DG Xender - a tool for transferring files between devices (laptops, PCs, tablets, smartphones), and WPS Office for working with MSOffice documents and PDF ones.
The Settings menu starts with the usual list of suggestions and important statuses and contains all four main groups of options. The first one allows you to manage your wireless connections, SIM cards, mobile data and other related settings. The second allows you to manage the main features of the device, including the display, sounds, notifications, apps, storage, battery, and memory. The Display menu contains a limited suite of MiraVision settings, a choice of wallpapers, Cast display feature, font and display size, etc. The Sounds menu holds no surprises either and so do the rest of the options. The Personal group of settings is where you adjust your location, language and input, manage your account(s) and the Google settings, or just back up and reset your device. Of course, a major part of this group is the Security menu that incorporates the Smart Lock features and fingerprint options. The latter only allows you to store, delete and rename a fingerprint ID.
System is the name of the fourth and last group of settings. It contains date and time settings, printing options, accessibility features, schedule power on & off, and the phone data. Intelligent assist is a set of options that debuts in this group. It includes several Smart Wake functions that allow you to wake the screen or select applications quickly, with simple gestures such as double click to wake the screen, draw C to open Phone, etc. In addition, there are three toggles for making screenshots with sliding three fingers on the screen, flipping the phone to silence a call, automatically answering a call when you place the device near the ear. The third group of intelligent options are the non-touch operations - unlocking, navigating in the Gallery, Music and Video, switching in the launcher. The last menu from the Intelligent assist options actually explains how to work with the split-screen mode in the Task Manager.
