Rear cameras - specifications, sample photos and videos
The nubia Z60S Pro integrates NeoVision AI Photography System 2.0, blending third-generation 35mm custom optics with professional AI processing. With versatile focal lengths, the camera department covers classic scenarios, making it essential for outdoor and street photography. It boasts advanced AI imaging functions such as AI Telephoto Super Score, AI Ultra HD Algorithm, and AI Flash Capture enabling creative street photography. Moreover, quick secondary editing and creative features such as AI Sky and AI Blur contribute to this creative versatility. The 65:24 ultra-wide cinema format offers a new perspective on composition, while personalized outdoor watermarks help you document journeys with ease. Enhanced by twelve starry sky algorithms and an exclusive Milky Way Night Scene Mode, night photography outdoors becomes an enjoyable experience. The NeoVision system brings the HyperS Enhanced Video Stabilization, Ultra-Wide Galactic Nightscapes, Mobile Video Pre-Recording, multiple color styles, a full-scene filter collection, optical quality zoom, natural light, and optical focal length for textured portraits, etc. All these are previewed in detail below. The nubia Z60S Pro inherits the brand's conservative approach to post-processing and the results look as natural as possible. That's enabled not only by the advanced software and AI but also by using quality optics.Daytime video samples
Below we publish several video samples shot with the rear cameras of the nubia Z60S Pro. The top one is an 8K @ 30 fps video shot with the main camera (35 mm). It is followed by a 4K @ 120 fps video shot with the main camera as well, a 1080p @ 30 fps video shot with the telephoto camera (80 mm), and a 4K @ 60 fps video made with the ultra-wide camera (13 mm). The last two videos demonstrate the video stabilization capabilities of the main and the ultra-wide cameras - both are 4K videos at 60 fps. Video stabilization of the telephoto lens is supported at 1080p @ 30 fps.Low light photos and videos, Moon and Starry Sky shooting modes
Below we list photo and video samples shot at night with the three cameras of the Z60S Pro. We have also included photos shot with the dedicated Moon and Starry Sky modes.Selfie camera specifications photo samples
The front camera of the nubia Z60S Pro uses a 16MP OmniVision OV16A1Q sensor with a 1/3.06" optical format and a 1.0 μm pixel size. The sensor is paired with a 5-element lens with an f/2.45 aperture. It can also record FHD videos at 30 fps and supports face unlock.Camera app and software features
The Camera app reflects the advanced capabilities of the model's cameras. It enables you to enjoy a simple point-and-shoot whenever you need it. At the same time, it provides you with all the tools for creative outdoor photography, whenever you feel like it. The general layout is standard. The three main elements of the camera are positioned at the bottom - a central shutter button with a small Google Lens icon to its left, a shortcut to the list of photos and videos in the left corner, and a switch to the front camera in the right corner. The shooting modes are listed in a reel above these elements. The three circles with focal length equivalents designate each of the rear cameras. 13 mm is for the ultra-wide, 35 mm is for the main camera, and 80 mm is for the telephoto unit. If you tap and hold on any of those, you get a dial to choose a zoom level to your liking. The top of the screen contains icons for camera- and shooting-mode-specific features. We will mention the most worthy ones in discussing the different shooting modes below. The default shooting mode is "Photo" with LED flash and HDR options, a color mode sector (Natural and Gorgeous), and various filters. The small circle with a downward arrow opens additional settings such as photo aspect ratio, self-timer, gradienter, grid lines, and Smart AI. There's also a "More settings" option which opens the general camera settings. The main camera auto-detects low light conditions and close-up objects and switches to Night and Macro mode, respectively. Each can be disabled by tapping on the respective icon. Faces are recognized automatically, too, enabling beautification features with the option to adjust the degree to which those features are applied. There's also an auto-suggestion for you to switch to "Portrait" mode from where you can adjust the background blur as well. This mode arrives with three default focal lengths - 35 mm, 50 mm, and 80 mm. The latter switches to the telephoto camera. For each you get the option to adjust the degree of beautification features, the aperture for background blur, and the type of light - natural, studio, contour, stage, and stage mono. Plenty of filters, a self-timer, gradienter, and grid lines are also available for this shooting mode.
The "Pro" mode looks quite overwhelming with many options that allow you to strive for professional-level photography. It can be applied to all three cameras with options to manually adjust the shutter speed, white balance, ISO, focus metering with manual focus, aperture, and time intervals. You can also lock the focus point for continuous shooting and when adjusting it manually, there's a DOF preview to help you achieve better accuracy. The "Pro" mode also allows you to achieve accurate exposure by detecting the luminance of the scene. You get an auto-metering option, metering-lock, and an option to separate the focus and metering. The latter can be used in scenes, in which you shoot people with the sunset as a backdrop. This will help you get exact exposure in all parts of the photo. The white balance can also be locked. Moreover, in "Pro" mode, you can select exposure-based or white-balance-based surroundings to achieve better exposure at all times. With this option, the camera takes several photos at once and combines them into one. You can also enable a RAW graph from this mode.
The last mode on the reel is called "Milky Way night". It works with the main camera only and lets you switch from autofocus to manual focus. There's a "Portrait" icon that switches on/off the LED flash. The "Color" option enables multiple starry sky effects to be applied after snapping a photo. There's a dedicated icon on the top-center of the screen, from where you can switch off the starry sky mode. A list of filters and a RAW graph are also available along the standard self-timer, gradienter, and grid lines.
"Camera-family" is positioned to the very left of the reel of shooting modes and contains 16 more modes to choose from. Once you select one, it replaces the "Camera-family" in the reel and you have to tap on it to go back to the full list. The latter includes three modes dedicated to night sky photography or astrophotography - "Star trail", "Starry sky", and "Moon". For all three using a tripod is recommended. The "Star trail" mode lets you adjust the shutter speed, white balance, ISO, and autofocus, if you're under the "Professional" tab on top of the screen. With the "Quick Shot" tab you can select from several filters and sky effects. "Peaking focus" is enabled by default from the camera settings. This mode works with the main and the ultra-wide cameras.
The "Moon" shooting mode contains a "Super Moon" option which shoots at a 560 mm focal length equivalent and makes close-ups of the Moon with the option to adjust the exposure compensation. The "Smart Moon" option takes two photos and combines them into one. The first is a photo of the entire scene and the second is a close up photo of the Moon. The final result is a scene that shows the Moon larger than it naturally is.
"Electronic aperture" is very much like the "Pro" mode. You have to select whether you're shooting by hand or using a tripod and you can tinker with the white balance, autofocus, aperture, compensation, and time intervals, and lock the focus, compensation, and white balance. With this mode you can shoot blurred moving river waters or clouds, night scenes, people and vehicles moving on the streets, etc. "Light Draw" is used only with a tripod and in situations such as light painting, light movement tracking, etc. This mode is available for the main and the ultra-wide camera. "Slow motion" at up to 480 fps for the main camera and "Time-lapse" video shooting for all three cameras are also enabled. The "Time-lapse" mode contains plenty of options for adjustment to achieve the best results. "Full size" is the shooting mode you should choose, in case you want to snap photos in the sensors' original resolutions - this applies to the main and the ultra-wide cameras.
The design and layout of the camera app for the front camera is the same as the ones for the rear cameras with some minor differences that reflect the nature of the shooter. The "Photo" mode of the front camera supports screen flash, HDR, filters, and beautification features. The "Video" mode supports 1080p and 720p resolutions at 30 fps, filters, beautification, and background blur. The "Portrait" mode supports filters, a screen flash, and beautification. These are the only three modes available for the front camera. When you click on the other ones, they automatically switch to the rear shooters.
"Photos" is the default app to open and edit photos and videos. It arrives with Lens integrated and the editing options change depending on the type of scene.
