Battery Tests

The Ulefone Armor 15 is equipped with a 6600 mAh Li-Ion battery. The unit arrives with an 18W charger. Below we publish the results from our proprietary battery tests. Each is performed with the screen of the device being calibrated to 200 cd/m2 and with battery-saving features disabled. The built-in TWS earbuds are full charged inside the charging box at all times.
Charging (3 hours and 15 minutes)
Our Ulefone Armor 15 review unit charged from 0 to 100% in 3 hours and 35 minutes. The charging process develops relatively steadily until the battery regains 80% of its charge. That's 2 hours and 45 minutes from the start. After that, the process speeds up a bit until 97% is reached. Finally, the process slows down significantly until the end. The battery temperature starts at 27°C and gradually increases to 35°C - that's 45 minutes from the start. This level is maintained for 2 hours. After that, the temperature increases to 37°C, stays at this level for 25 minutes, and starts decreasing to reach 30°C in the end.
Browsing (12 hours and 04 minutes)
During our intensive browsing test, the battery of our review unit lasted for 12 hours and 4 minutes. The discharging process is slow for the first 30 minutes. Afterward, it gains speed and maintains it relatively steady until the end. The battery temperature starts at 29°C, reaches 35°C in 1 hour, and remains at this level almost until the end, when during the last several minutes the temperature slightly increases to 36°C.
1080p Video (15 hours and 52 minutes)
1920x1080, 30 fps, H.264, 20Mbps bitrate
The video test for battery life uses a 1080p video at 30 fps with a ~20Mbps rate is used. Our review unit's score on this test is 15 hours and 52 minutes. The discharging process follows the same pattern we observe from the browsing test. The battery temperature starts at 30°C, reaches 33°C in an hour, and remains at this level until the end.
3D Graphics/Gaming (9 hours and 35 minutes)
YEBIS OpenGL ES 3.0 3D Tech Demo
For the 3D Graphics/Gaming test, the YEBIS OpenGL ES 3.0 3D Tech Demo is used. The result from this test is 9 hours and 35 minutes. Again, the discharging process is slow for the first 30 minutes and is steady from then on until the end. The battery temperature starts at 32°C and reaches 37°C in 1 hour and 20 minutes. This level is maintained for 5 hours, after which the temperature gradually increases to 38-39°C.

Infrared thermography
The above photos of the Ulefone Armor 15 are taken with a FLIR thermal camera and clearly demonstrate that the device manages to control its temperature. The left photo shows the device's temperature during charging. The hottest area is the center of the upper half of the body with a temperature of 31°C, which is quite low. The second photo depicts the device's temperature during our 3D battery life test. In this case, the hottest part of the device with a temperature of 35.3°C is the center of the bottom bezel. This level is also quite low for a smartphone.

Battery Settings

The Battery menu offers the same options as before with a design and layout that are typical for Android 11. It begins with battery status info, followed by battery usage data. It has a usage graph and information about which app or physical part of the device has consumed the most power. After that, you get the Battery Saver. This is a simple toggle but you get the option to schedule it based on the battery percentage. There's another toggle to turn off the battery saver when the battery reaches above 90% of its charge. There's also the Battery Manager toggle which monitors for apps that drain the battery and sends warning notifications if such are detected. Finally, there's the battery percentage toggle, which is on by default.
