Gretel GT6000 Review

Audio

Gretel GT6000 arrives with the default Android music application. It contains the usual ways of sorting audio files, according to the album, artist, and song name. There's a list of playlists and a standard equaliser, which is switched off by default and contains several preset audio profiles and stereo effects. The music player lets you shuffle the audio files, add them to a favourites list, loop the playlists, and so on.
The audio test has been performed by using the TASCAM US-2x2 audio interface and the RightMark Audio Analyzer software as usual. All audio enhancement features are disabled. The results do not take into regard the speaker. The audio results of our review unit are far from flattering. The frequency response has a Very good score, so does the IMD at 10 kHz parameter, but the noise level and THD + Noise are Very poor, IMD + Noise is Poor, and the rest of the parameters are rated as Good, so is the final average result. The speaker is behind the right speaker grille and is loud enough. Even if you try to silence it by covering the holes with a finger, you can still hear the sound coming out from the bottom of the device pretty well as if there's a stereo speaker (there isn't).
