Oukitel WP300 Design, build and controls
The Oukitel WP300 is built to survive your wildest adventures and your toughest workdays. Its reinforced chassis and military-grade drop protection mean you can take it off-road, onto construction sites, or anywhere else without flinching. It combines a robust metal frame, tough polycarbonate, and shock-absorbing TPU in an exquisitely crafted device that does not omit on elegance despite its massive footprint.
Oukitel WP300 is IP68-rated for being able to survive soaks in 1.5 meters of water for up to 30 minutes, as well as dips in dust, sand, and dirt. Its IP69K rating means it can withstand high-pressure water spraying and extreme temperatures from -45°C to +75°C. The MIL-STD-810H rating confirms the device is able to survive drops from up to 1.5 meters of height.
The Oukitetl WP300 is 82.4 mm wide and 177.3 mm high. The 16000 mAh battery and reinforced structure contribute to the thickness of 23.2 mm and the weight of 510 grams. The available colors include Black and Black with Gray and Black with Red elements. We are reviewing the red variant. It is a dark wine-red color that brings a flair of sophistication.
The front of the device has a classic octagonal shape. It is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and a pre-applied screen protector on top. The display casing protrudes from the glass surface for additional protection. The size bezels of the display are around 3 mm thick, the top bezel is 5 mm, and the bottom bezel is 6 mm. The receiver is placed between the screen and the frame. The light and proximity sensors are placed on the left half, while the selfie camera resides in a punch hole in the top center of the screen. You can choose from on-screen gestures and virtual buttons for navigation, each with customization options.
The rear shell is mostly flat with a horizontal brushed aluminum effect as a finish. The entire shell is wrapped with shock-absorbing TPU that also protrudes a bit from the surface. The top one-third of the back is occupied by the two cameras and the modular elements. The two cameras are vertically aligned in the left part of this area, while the camping light/rear display occupies its right part. A bright dual-LED flash is placed between them. There's also a physical button to release the camping light/rear display. This part of the rear shell has Oukitel's signature diamond-like finish. It also has its own protective frame made of tough polycarbonate with strongly protruding corners that protect all elements inside this module.
The top frame is almost bare, with a single vent hole on it. The bottom one houses the USB Type-C port protected by an insulating cap and the microphone. The Volume Up and Down buttons with a circular shape, as well as the Power button with a built-in fingerprint sensor, are placed on the righ frame. The left frame is the home of the SIM card tray and the customizable button in red color with a striped surface.
The Oukitel WP300 truly distinguishes itself in its modularity. You can swap a camping light and a wristband-style display that also doubles as a Bluetooth earpiece. The camping light module has its own strap. It has a 6000-6500 K white light color and consumes 3W of power. The light has three operation modes and three brightness levels. It is managed by a dedicated pre-installed application. The earpiece-wristband-rear display module also has its own strap and is IP68-rated for being water and dust proof. It is charged magnetically via two pins. The smart band counts steps, calories, and distance travelled. It supports 100+ sport modes, hear rate sensing, and sleep monitoring. The band uses an on-cell AMOLED display and a 150 mAh battery. There's a dedicated pre-installed app dubbed Da Fit for paring the band to the smartphone.
