Battery Tests

Ulefone Power Armor 16S is powered by a 9600 mAh Li-Pol battery with 18W fast charging support. All battery life tests are developed in-house. The display of every device we test is calibrated to 200 cd/m² and battery-saving features are disabled. The battery of our Power Armor 16S was charged in full for 3 hours and 26 minutes with the provided USB data cable and charger. The charging process has a slow start - it takes 12 minutes to regain 4% of the battery charge. Then it gains speed and maintains it until the battery regains 90% of its charge. This happens 2 hours and 16 minutes later. Then, the charging process slows down again and it takes 1 hour and 10 minutes to charge the last 10%. The battery temperature starts at 26°C, jumps to 32°C, and continues to increase gradually, crossing the 40°C line 40 minutes from the start. The temperature reaches its peak of 46°C at the 2 hour and 16 minutes mark. With the slowing of the charging process, the battery temperature starts decreasing and it measures 29°C at the end. During our intensive browsing test, the battery of the Ulefone Power Armor 16S lasted for 25 hours and 36 minutes. The discharging process is slow at the beginning. For the first 1 hour and a half, the battery charge drops by 3%. After that, the process gains speed and maintains it until the battery drops to 2% of its charge, when discharging slows down again. The battery temperature starts at 27°C and reaches 31°C after 45 minutes, remaining at this level until the end. The video test for battery life uses a 1080p video at 30 fps with a ~20Mbps rate is used. Power Armor 16S's battery lasted for 26 hours and 28 minutes. The discharging process follows the same pattern observed during the browsing tests with a pronounced slow start and slow ending. The battery temperature maintains a steady 31-32°C level from the start to the end. For the 3D Graphics/Gaming test, Real Racing 3 is used. The result from this test is 13 hours and 21 minutes. The discharging process curve follows the familiar pattern from the previous two tests. The battery temperature starts at 30°C and reaches 36°C in one hour and a half. After that, it continues to increase very slowly, measuring 38°C in the end. The above photos of the Ulefone Power Armor 16S are taken with a FLIR thermal camera. The upper photo shows the device's temperature during charging. The hottest zone is the point above the center of the upper half of the body with a temperature of 37.8°C. The second photo depicts the device's temperature during our 3D battery life test. In this case, the hottest part is again an area above the center of the upper half of the body with a temperature of 32.2°C. The second hottest point is the center of the chin with a temperature of 31.5°C.

Battery Settings

The Battery menu follows the same layout as the general Settings. Despite that, it has all the stock Android features - battery status data, battery usage, power saver, battery manager, and a toggle for the percentage in the status bar.
