Oukitel WP55 Ultra Rear cameras

The camera department of the Oukitel WP55 Ultra has a setup that's already familiar from former Oukitel smartphones we have reviewed. The main rear camera is based on the 108 Samsung S5KHM6 ISOCELL sensor. It has a 1/1.67" optical format and a 0.64 μm pixel size. On the WP55 Ultra, it is paired with an f/1.9 lens with a 79° FoV and outputs 12 MP images by default. This camera can record 2K videos at 30 fps. The second unit is an 8MP SK Hynix Hi-846 Night Vision camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a 78° FoV. It supports autofocus and is aided by dual IR lights. This camera can also shoot HD videos at 30 fps. Other smartphones that we have reviewed and use the Samsung ISOCELL HM6 sensor for their main cameras are Oukitel WP300, WP210, WP56, and the Oukitel WP200 Pro.

The front-facing camera of the Oukitel WP55 Ultra uses a 32MP Sony IMX616 sensor with a 1/2.74" optical format and a 0.8 μm pixel size. It is paired with an f/2.2 lens and supports up to FHD video recording at 30 fps. Oukitel WP55 Ultra Camera App

The Camera app is quite straightforward. The big round shutter button has a central place at the bottom of the screen. The camera switch is to its right, and the shortcut to the photos and videos is to its left. The reel with shooting modes appears above them. The default one is called "Picture" and it supports AI scene recognition, HDR, LED flash, and digital zoom. There's also a settings cog icon in the top right corner of the screen, opening an overall with options such as grid lines, picture size, self-timer, etc. The "Video" shooting mode supports flash options and additional video-related settings accessed via the cog icon. The "Night Vision" mode uses the corresponding camera. Instead a camera switch the interface for this camera offers a button for video recording. If you want to shoot in the sensor's original size, you have to tap on the "108" mode. "Facebeauty" is a shooting mode that allows you to make portraits by adjusting the background blur and adding beautification features. The background blur can also be adjusted in the "Portrait" mode. The "Pro" mode lets you manually set the white balance, ISO, exposure, shutter speed, and focus metering. The "More" tab contains further shooting modes such as Slow motion, Gif, Panorama, Time-lapse, Night View, and QR code. The interface for the front camera is almost identical; however, only the supported shooting modes are listed. These are "Picture", "Video", "Portrait", and 'Facebeauty", while the "More" tab contains the GIF and time-lapse shooting modes. Photo and video editing is done via the default Photos app, which has Google Lens integrated. From here, you can enhance, warm, or cool an image, adjust its brightness, contrast, white point, highlights, and other properties, crop, add a filter, text, or markup. You can also play with the "Blur" options, either enhancing or decreasing the background blur or changing the focus of the photo.
