Battery Tests

Ulefone Note 16 Pro is equipped with a 4400 mAh Li-Pol battery with 10W charging support. All battery tests we run on the devices we review are developed by us and performed with the screen of the device being calibrated to 200 cd/m2. Battery-saving features are disabled.
Charging (2 hours and 21 minutes)
The battery of our review unit charged in full for 2 hours and 21 minutes with the provided USB cable and charger. The first 5% of the charge is regained in around 5 minutes but the process speeds up a bit afterward and maintains a steady pace until the battery regains 90% of its change - that's 1 hour and 35 minutes later. After this, the process slows down significantly and the last 10% need 40 minutes to charge. The battery temperature starts at 30°C and after one hour reaches 38°C. It remains there for 40 minutes and during the last 40 minutes of the process, it decreases to measure 30°C in the end.
Browsing (9 hours and 49 minutes)
During our intensive browsing test, the battery of our review unit lasted for 9 hours and 49 minutes. The discharging process is slower during the first 40 minutes of the process but then it gains pace and maintains it until the battery drops to 8%. At that point, discharging is lightning fast and it takes a minute to drop to 2%. At this level, the charge holds up for 50 minutes until the charge drops to 0%. The battery temperature starts at 28C, reaches 37°C in an hour, and 38°C after another two hours, and remains at this level until the end.
1080p Video (10 hours and 52 minutes)
1920x1080, 30 fps, H.264, 20Mbps bitrate
The video test for battery life uses a 1080p video at 30 fps with a ~20Mbps rate is used. Our review unit's score is 10 hours and 52 minutes. The discharging process follows the same pattern observed during the browsing test - a slow start, a steady majority of the process, a sharp drop from 8 to 2% in a minute, and a very slow end. The battery temperature starts at 31°C, and reaches 37°C in two hours remaining at this level until the end.
3D Graphics/Gaming (6 hours and 59 minutes)
YEBIS OpenGL ES 3.0 3D Tech Demo
For the 3D Graphics/Gaming test, the YEBIS OpenGL ES 3.0 3D Tech Demo is used. Again, there's no change in the way the discharging process develops. The battery temperature starts at 29°C, reaches 40°C in 1 hour, and stays at this level for 3 hours and 30 minutes. After that, it continues to increase gradually and measures 44°C in the end.

Battery Settings

While the Battery menu has the latest Android layout, it does include more features and options for control. For starters, there's a Battery usage page with information about the app or services that use the most power since the last full charge. It is followed by the Battery Saver - the familiar toggle which can be scheduled and turned off automatically when the battery regains its power up to 90%. The Adaptive Battery toggle is here as well to detect apps that drain the power if switched on. There's also an Ultra power-saving mode. It strips off the device from most of its features and you can only make calls and text. The Battery Percentage toggle is on by default. In addition to all those familiar features of this section, there are four additional ones - App Standby Optimizer, Stop App After Screen Lock, App Auto Launch Management, and Power Intensive Apps list.
