Cubot Max 2 is equipped with a 6.8-inch IPS display with a resolution of 640 x 1352 pixels and a 19:9 aspect ratio. The manufacturer has specified 3000:1 static contrast ratio, 480-500 cd/m² typical brightness and 90% coverage of the NTSC colour space. The screen has GFF lamination - this stands for glass-to-film-to-film and means that such displays have a two-film sensor that bonds together a PET film, ITO (the Y-axis touch electrodes), OCA (optically clear adhesive), then another PET film, ITO (the X-axis touch electrodes) and OCA. These are then covered with a protective glass. The full lamination of the screen makes it even thinner and more sensitive to the touch. The Display menu from the settings includes a Night mode that can be scheduled and options for the LED notification light among all other standard features. The maximum brightness of our Cubot Max 2 review unit measures 787.5 cd/m², which makes it the brightest display on a smartphone we've tested so far. If the white area on the display is smaller than 100%, the brightness tops 800 nits. The lowest white luminance measure at 0% brightness is 33.7 cd/m². The static contrast ratio is around 1649:1. The CIE diagram unveils that the display covers almost 100% of the sRGB colour space. Colours in the red-orange and green-yellow spectrum might look slightly punchier than normal, while colours in the blue, purple, red and blue-green spectrum might look duller than normal. The display panel has a traditional vertical striped RGB subpixel arrangement.
