AGM H5 Review - a good looking and reliable rugged smartphone

Battery Tests

The AGM H5 packs a 7000 mAh Li-Ion battery. The unit arrives with an 18W charger. You can also buy an optional 10W dock charger. Below we publish the results from our proprietary battery tests. Each is performed with the screen of the device being calibrated to 200 cd/m2 and with battery-saving features disabled.
Charging (3 hours and 4 minutes)
Our AGM H5 review unit charged from 0 to 100% in 3 hours and 4 minutes. The charging process develops with one speed from 0 to 20%, with a slightly faster speed from 20% to 90%, and with a slower speed from 90% to 100%. The first phase takes 37 minutes, during which, the battery temperature increases from 31°C to 40°C. The second phase lasts for 1 hour and 40 minutes (roughly), during which the battery gradually reaches 43°C with occasional peaks to 45°C. The third phase lasts half an hour and during this time, the battery temperature decreases from 40°C to 35°C in the end.
Browsing (17 hours and 45 minutes)
During our intensive browsing test, the battery of our review unit lasted for 17 hours and 45 minutes. The discharging curve from this test has a very distinctive outline. It shows that for the first hour and for the last half an hour, the discharging process has been particularly slow. The battery temperature starts at 36°C, increases to 38°C in 1 hour, and remains at this level until the end.
1080p Video (24 hours and 6 minutes)
1920x1080, 30 fps, H.264, 20Mbps bitrate
The video test for battery life uses a 1080p video at 30 fps with a ~20Mbps rate is used. Our review unit's score from this test is 24 hours and 6 minutes. The discharging process follows the same pattern we observe from the browsing test. The battery temperature starts at 29°C and gradually increases to 37°C remaining at this level until the end.
3D Graphics/Gaming (11 hours and 42 minutes)
YEBIS OpenGL ES 3.0 3D Tech Demo
For the 3D Graphics/Gaming test, the YEBIS OpenGL ES 3.0 3D Tech Demo is used. The result from this test is 11 hours and 42 minutes. This time, the discharging process begins at its usual speed but the end is slower than usual as seen in the graph. The battery temperature starts at 35°C, reaches 40°C in half an hour, and 41°C after another 30 minutes so as to stay around this level until the end.

Infrared thermography
The above photos of the AGM H5 are taken with a FLIR thermal camera. The left photo shows the device's temperature during charging. The hottest area is to the right of the center of the upper half of the body with a temperature of 38.8°C. The second photo depicts the device's temperature during our 3D battery life test. In this case, the hottest part of the device with a temperature of 41°C is the center of the chin. With a temperature of 40.7°C the area right off the center of the upper half of the body is the second hottest, followed by the area above the SIM tray with a temperature of 39°C.

Battery Settings

The Battery menu offers the same options as before but the design and layout are Android 12 ones. It begins with battery status info, followed by battery usage data. It has a usage graph and information about which app or physical part of the device has consumed the most power. After that, you get the Battery Saver. This is a simple toggle but you get the option to schedule it based on the battery percentage. There's another toggle to turn off the save when the battery reaches above 90% of its charge. There's also the Battery Manager toggle which monitors for apps that drain the battery and sends warning notifications if such are detected. Finally, there's the battery percentage toggle, which is off by default.
