Overview

The AGM Glory G1S is the subject matter of this review. If rugged smartphones can be described as beautiful this will mostly apply to the latest AGM models. However, it is not only the fancy design but also the numerous useful features that this particular device has that make it an interesting model to review. In one package you get a reasonably sized battery, very good Snapdragon performance, 5G connectivity, a laser pointer, a Night Vision camera, a 48MP main camera, and an InfiRay thermal camera with high resolution. Bespoke ruggedized qualities top that making the Glory G1S a must-have all-rounder.

The AGM Glory G1S is fitted with a 6.53-inch in-cell IPS display with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels, LTPS backplane, and Glove Mode support. The U-shaped notch of the screen is the home of the 16MP Sony IMX471 selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture. On the back, there's a quad-camera module. The main shooter uses a 48MP Sony IMX582 sensor and a 6-element lens with an f/1.79 aperture. The second one is the 20MP Sony IMX350 Night Vision camera aided by a single IR LED light. The 2MP GalaxyCore GC02M1 unit is a macro camera with an f/2.4 aperture. Finally, there's an InfiRay thermal camera with a resolution of 256 x 192 pixels and video recording capabilities. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 (SM4350) chipset is responsible for the processing power of the device. It houses an octa-core CPU with two 2GHz Cortex-A76 cores and six 1.8GHz Cortex-A55 cores. An Adreno 619 GPU manages the graphics department. There are 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of expandable UFS 2.2 storage onboard. A 5500 mAh battery keeps the lights on and supports 18W fast charging. The model has pogo pins on its back for 10W dock charging. A dock station is sold separately.

The AGM Glory G1S has a dual Nano-SIM tray with both SIM cards supporting 5G. The network bands supported by both cards are as follows: 2G GSM (2/3/5/8), 2.5G CDMA (BC0/BC1/BC10), 3G WCDMA (1/2/4/5/6/8/19), 4G TDD-LTE (34/38/39/40/41), 4G FDD-LTE (B1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/13/17/18/19/20/25/26/28A/28B/66), and 5G NR (N1/2//3/5/7/8/28/41/66/77/78). The wireless connectivity options of the model include Bluetooth 5.0, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Hotspot, and Cast display. The smartphone also supports NFC and works with GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and Beidou. There's a USB Type-C port and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The model arrives with almost pure Android 11 out of the box. It is IP68 and IP69K rated for water and dust resistance and has a MIL-STD-810H certification for resistance to drops, shock, pressure, humidity, acidic atmosphere, temperature extremes, and similar types of impact.
