Cubot KingKong 11 Design, build, and controls

Cubot KingKong 11's classic rugged design fuses brute durability with futuristic flair, featuring a rear display reminiscent of a smartwatch. Mecha-inspired elements dominate the chassis: exposed screws, angular contours, and shapes evoke the aesthetic of robotic armor, while reinforced corners and textured grips ensure resilience against harsh environments. The body combines a tough polycarbonate chassis with shock-absorbing TPU and glass. It is predominantly black with some accents in red and slate gray. Cubot KingKong 11 is IP68- and an IP69K-rated. It can survive soaks in water of up to 5 meters for up to 30 minutes with 80% effectiveness - provided the rubber plugs are securely inserted. It can also withstand immersion in water of up to 1.5 meters for more than an hour and is dust-tight. The device is also resilient to hot water spraying and extreme temperatures. In addition, the model is MIL-STD-810H certified for being resistant to drops from up to 1.5 meters of height and shock. The handset is 84.1 mm wide, 176 mm high, and 18.7 mm thick. The device tipped our scales at 415 grams. These are average dimensions and weight for a smartphone with a 6.7-inch display and a 10000+ mAh battery. The front of the KingKong 11 is dominated by the display protected by Gorilla Glass and a pre-applied screen protector. As usual, the display casing protrudes a bit from the glass surface to provide additional protection should the device drop flat on its screen. The light and proximity sensors, together with the LED notification light, are placed in the right half of the top bezel. The receiver is placed right between the display casing and the frame. The top and bottom bezels are 5 mm and 7 mm thick, respectively, while the side bezels are very thin -0 2 mm. The device supports on-screen gesture navigation and navigation with virtual buttons. Both options can be customized. A punch hole in the top center of the screen houses the selfie camera. The design of the rear shell is what makes the Cubot KingKong 11 stand out. The very top is covered with shock-absorbing TPU with a honeycomb pattern. Then there's the crisply defined, circular display with a sporty frame that mirrors a smartwatch interface - providing glanceable alerts, health stats, and a lot more without waking the main screen. The three rear cameras and the triple LED flash are positioned in the four corners of the module around the rear display. All this takes up 1/3 of the rear shell. The other 2/3rds boast a mecha-inspired look that is amplified by the two red strips, giving the device a bold, tech-warrior vibe that feels equally at home in a sci-fi battlefield or an industrial worksite. The Cubot logo is vertically aligned in the middle of this area, which is covered with Panda glass. The smartphone's speaker is placed at the left bottom corner of the rear shell. The top frame of the device is bare and the bottom one houses the main microphone and the USB Type-C 2.0 port that's covered with an insulating cap. The right corner of the device has a lanyard hole. The Volume rocker and the Power button with an embedded fingerprint sensor are placed on the right frame. The left frame is the home of the hybrid, dual-SIM tray that is also protected by an insulating cap and a red insulating band. It is positioned deep within the frame, and you'll need a SIM pin to extract it. It is adjoined by a customizable button.
