Ulefone Armor 30 Pro Rear cameras, photo and video samples

Ulefone Armor 30 Pro has three rear cameras. The main one is based on the OmniVision OV50H PureCel sensor with a 1/1.28" optical format and a 1.2 µm pixel size. The sensor is paired with a 7-element lens with an f/2.2 aperture and an 85° FoV. By default, the primary camera snaps 12.5MP photos and you have to use the 50MP shooting mode to take pictures in the sensor's original resolution. The primary camera is capable of recording 4K videos at 30 fps. It is aided by a dual-tone LED flash.

The second camera is a Night Vision one. It uses a 64MP OmniVision OV64B sensor and has an f/1.79 aperture, a 79.4° FoV, and four IR lights. This unit can record 4K videos and arrives with the upgraded Ulefone NightElf Ultra 3.0 algorithm with lesser interference, turning darkness into clear, detailed images. We have reviewed several other rugged smartphones by Ulefone that use the same sensor for their Night Vision cameras. these include the Armor 28 Ultra, Armor Mini 20 Pro, Armor 27T Pro, Armor 27 Pro, Armor 25T, Armor 25T Pro 5G, Armor 26 Ultra, and the Ulefone Armor 23 Ultra.

The third rear camera of the Armor 30 Pro is a 50MP Samsung S5KJN1 ultra-wide and macro unit. This ISOCELL sensor has a 1/2.76" optical format and a 0.64 μm pixel size. The camera has an f/2.2 aperture and a 117.3° FoV. It supports EIS and FHD video recording at 30 fps. By default, this camera snaps 50MP photos, with no pixel binning there. The Ulefone Armor 28 Ultra uses the same sensor for its ultra-wide camera.

Ulefone Armor 30 Pro Camera App

The Camera app of the Armor 30 Pro is already quite familiar to everyone who follows up on the brand. At the very bottom of the screen, you get the large shutter button, the shortcut to the list of photos and videos on the left, Google Lens, and the camera switch to its right. The reel with shooting modes appears above them and further up you get three zoom levels. 0.6x switches to the ultra-wide camera. 1x is the default one and 2x uses the main camera as well and is a digital zoom level. There's a beautification icon to the right of the zoom levels and when you tap on it, you get various beautification features that can be adjusted manually. The top of the screen under the default "Photo" mode lists flash options, HDR, AI, filters, and a downward icon, which opens the list of camera settings when tapped on. The camera settings appear as an overlay on the screen and are largely the same for every camera of the smartphone except for some differences that reflect the nature of the shooting mode - picture size, video resolution, mirror function for the selfie camera, etc.
The "Video" shooting mode lists only the LED flash and works with the main and ultra-wide camera with a 2x digital zoom level available. The "Night Vision" mode is to the far left of the reel. It switches to the Night Vision camera which supports several filters. In this case, instead of a camera switch, there's a button that switches to video recording with this particular camera. The "Film" mode switches to shooting a video with a film aspect ratio. "50MP" is a shooting mode that lets you snap photos with the main camera in the sensor's original resolution. "More" is a tab that leads to more shooting modes including "Night mode", "Document Correction", "GroupPhoto", "AI Emoji", "Gif", "Portrait", "ProVideo", "Sports", "Dual-view Video", "Pro Mode", "Panorama", "Slow motion", "Time Lapse", "Intelligent Scanning".
The "Portrait" mode uses the main camera with options for manual adjustment of the aperture level and beautification features. The "Pro mode" and "Pro Video" allow you to adjust the white balance, ISO, exposure, shutter speed, and focus metering. The interface for the front camera is largely the same. You get all available modes and when the selfie camera does not support them, the device simply switches to the rear shooters. Photo and video editing can be done via the default Photos app with integrated Google Lens. You can also customize the appearance of the Camera app by choosing what shooting modes should appear in the reel and the "More" tab. You can also change the way you access "More" - as a tab or with a swipe up from the bottom of the screen. The accent colors can be changed as well.
