Both devices feature Huawei's signature exquisite design inspired by nature. The pure symmetrical design is enhanced by the small notch and thin bezels (2.2 mm on the P30 Pro). The handsets are also very narrow facilitating one-hand operations despite the big screens. The P30 has a 3650 mAh battery and the P30 Pro has a 4200 mAh battery. Despite the bigger battery, the models are lighter than competitive models on the market. The devices do not have earpieces. They use Huawei's Acoustic Display Technology as well as new-generation in-display fingerprint sensors. For the backplate, the manufacturer has used nine layers of nano-optical coating. The available colours include Breathing Crystal, Peark White, Aurora, Black and Amber Sunrise. Huawei P30 has a 6.1-inch OLED display with HDR support and FHD+ resolution. The body is IP53 rated. The camera department of this model includes a 40MP Sony IMX650 main rear camera with an f/1.8 lens, a 16MP wide rear shooter with an f/2.2 lens and an 8MP telephoto shooter with an f/2.4 lens and 3x optical zoom, 5x hybrid zoom and 30x digital zoom. Huawei P30 Pro has a 6.47-inch curved OLED display with HDR and DCI-P3 support. Its body is IP68 rated for dust and water resistance. This device is the first to introduce the periscope camera. It employs an 8MP sensor with an f/3.4 lens, 10x hybrid zoom, 50x digital zoom and OIS. There's a TOF camera on the back as well for depth sensing, a 40MP Sony IMX650 main shooter with an f/1.6 lens and OIS plus a 20MP wide camera with an f/2.2 lens. The 40MP sensors use a new Quad Bayer structure with RYYB structure. The ISO of the P30 is 204800 and the ISO of P30 Pro is 409600. Huawei's AI stabilization has also improved and you can shoot hand-held photos without the need of a tripod. The cameras also support AI HDR+. Both the P30 and the P30 Pro are equipped with 32MP selfie cameras with AI HDR+. Video shooting is also improved by offering quality low-light video recording thanks to the 40MP camera, while the Dual OIS helps for shooting steadily. The telephoto cameras support up to 10x time-lapse videos. Moreover, you can simultaneously shoot videos with the wide and zoom camera - Dual-View video. The P30 Pro DxOmark result is 112 points overall, 119 points for photography and 97 points for video. Huawei has worked on improving the performance, app launch times and file system for faster reading speeds. The 4200 mAh battery of Huawei P30 Pro supports 40W Super Fast charge, 15W wireless charging and reverse wireless charging. The two models run on EMUI 9.1 based on Android 9 Pie. They are equipped with a Kirin 980 chipset. The P30 features 6GB+128GB of RAM+storage and the P30 Pro has 8GB of RAM and 128GB/512GB of storage.
