The device centers on an enormous 8000 mAh battery - certified by TÜV SÜD for two full days of real‑world use. Tecno says the battery can deliver more than 60 hours of calls, over 85 hours of music playback, nearly 30 hours of YouTube streaming, and up to 14 hours of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang playing. It also maintains over 80% health after 2000 charge cycles, offering up to six years of longevity. Thermal efficiency has been improved by 12.5% compared to the previous generation.
Performance is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 platform, tuned for stable 90FPS gameplay in titles such as Honor of Kings and MLBB. Tecno complements the chipset with two in‑house signal enhancement chips: the G1 cellular booster, which doubles signal strength in difficult environments like elevators, and the SE1 Wi‑Fi chip, which improves 2.4GHz reception by 60%. The device also features a 144Hz eye‑care display with TÜV Rheinland low‑blue‑light certification and military‑grade shock resistance.
The design continues the Pova series' interstellar‑inspired aesthetic, featuring sharp geometric elements, a semi‑transparent back, and the standout Alive Matrix Display. This rear LED panel lights up with animations for calls, notifications, music, gaming, and charging, offering 49 preset scenarios and the option to create custom patterns. Global color options include Arc White, Graphite Black, Helios Orange, and Echo Green, while India will receive 16‑Bit White, Terminal Green, and Plasma Orange at launch.
Imaging gets a notable upgrade with a 50MP Sony LYT-600 main camera offering improved light intake and 2x lossless zoom, paired with a 13MP front camera. Tecno's AI LightMaster 2.0 helps remove flares, reflections, and shadows for cleaner photos, and the device supports direct Live Photo uploads to Instagram Loops.
The Tecno Pova 8 5G also introduces a suite of "Practical AI" features aimed at real‑world utility. AI YouTube Summary automatically converts long videos into structured notes with key points and timestamps. All‑Scenario Noise Cancellation isolates the speaker’s voiceprint to suppress background chatter during calls or recordings. In select markets, AI Health enables users to measure heart rate, blood oxygen, blood pressure, and respiration through facial scanning using rPPG technology. Additional tools include AI Writing for text refinement and an AI Theme Generator for personalized UI design.
Tecno promises two major Android OS upgrades and three years of security patches. Buyers will also receive three years of free 256GB cloud storage, and in select regions, a three‑month Google AI Plus trial with 2TB of storage.
