The new flagship marks a major leap in portable esports hardware, becoming the first gaming tablet equipped with an active liquid cooling system and visible RGB lighting.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is at the heart of the device, supported by REDMAGIC's RedCore R4 gaming chip and the Energy Cube 3.0 optimization engine. This trio works together to maintain stable frame rates, enhance responsiveness, and improve power efficiency across demanding titles. The platform also supports 2K gaming with up to 144Hz frame interpolation across more than 200 games, ensuring smooth motion and high visual fidelity.
The Gaming Tablet 5 Pro, a.k.a. Astra 2, continues REDMAGIC's signature transparent industrial design, showcasing its active liquid cooling system through a clear rear panel. The compact 9.06‑inch form factor features ultra‑narrow bezels and a flat rear surface for improved grip, while 11 RGB LEDs deliver dynamic lighting effects during gameplay. Despite its size, the tablet achieves a 90.1% screen‑to‑body ratio and incorporates a rigid aluminum alloy frame for durability and heat dissipation.
A standout feature is the industry‑leading 185Hz OLED esports display built with BOE's X10 luminous material, offering up to 1600 nits peak brightness and intelligent refresh‑rate switching. The Synaptics S3930 touch chip further boosts responsiveness with a 300Hz multi‑touch sampling rate, up to 2000Hz instantaneous touch response, and 1ms latency. Eye‑care technologies, including SGS‑certified low blue light and flicker‑free performance, support extended gaming comfort.
Thermal performance is driven by the first active liquid cooling system ever used in a gaming tablet. The architecture includes fluorinated coolant, a 0.48 mm micro pump, nano‑sealed tubing, Liquid Metal 3.0, and a large vapor chamber - working together to minimize throttling and sustain peak performance during long sessions.
The tablet houses an 8300 mAh battery with up to 80W fast charging (China version) and reverse charging. Dual USB Type‑C ports support bypass charging and are positioned for ergonomic gameplay. Additional features include a 1227 stereo speaker system with N'Bass tuning, side‑mounted fingerprint recognition, facial unlock, smartphone network sharing, and USB 3.2 Gen 2 data transfer.
REDMAGIC OS 11.5 introduces MORA AI Agent 2.0 for intelligent optimization, gameplay assistance, and productivity enhancements. The tablet supports 4K 144Hz external display output and optimized wired/wireless casting. It has also been validated for professional esports competition, earning certification across major leagues such as Speed League, Call of Duty: Mobile Masters, CrossFire Mobile League, Wild Rift League, and Arena Breakout Vanguard Cup.
The REDMAGIC Gaming Tablet 5 Pro launches in China on June 30, 2026, starting at RMB 5,299, with configurations up to 16GB+1TB. Global availability for the Astra 2 Gaming Tablet will be announced on July 17, 2026, with regional variations expected.
