Add DeviceSpecifications as a preferred source on GoogleThe Huawei Pura 90 Pro and Huawei Pura 90 Pro Max round off the Pura 90 series. Both models blend expressive design with a deeply upgraded imaging system and a more immersive HarmonyOS 6.1 experience. They continue the Pura line's shift toward emotional color aesthetics, pairing a refined exterior with Huawei's second‑generation Red Maple imaging system, which promises more natural color reproduction, improved tonal depth, and a stronger sense of atmosphere.
HarmonyOS 6.1 introduces a more interactive visual environment, including 3D wallpapers, light‑sensing themes, and a redesigned lock‑screen experience that shifts perspective with device movement. The system is powered by the Kirin 9030S platform and supported by Huawei’s cloud‑coordinated soft–hard synergy, which improves responsiveness and multitasking. Features such as HyperSpace Memory compression help keep more apps active in the background, while the “Little Art” AI assistant can narrate scenes, generate comic‑style storyboards, and organize memories into illustrated collections.
Huawei's XMAGE platform receives one of its most significant updates to date. Users gain access to AI‑assisted composition, pose suggestions, cinematic atmosphere presets, and 3D dynamic photos that turn selected moments into animated, spatially layered images. These tools are designed to help users achieve professional‑looking results with minimal effort. The front camera also benefits from Huawei’s imaging enhancements, offering advanced portrait features and 4K video capabilities.
Huawei Pura 90 Pro's rear camera system includes a 50MP main sensor with a variable F1.4–F4.0 aperture and optical image stabilization, a 12.5MP ultra‑wide lens, and a 50MP telephoto module with OIS and macro‑level focusing capabilities. The system supports 4x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom. Video recording goes up to 4K with AIS stabilization and 1080p slow‑motion capture at 960 fps. The front camera is a 13MP ultra‑wide autofocus module capable of 4K video and advanced AI‑driven portrait features. It supports slow‑motion capture at 240 fps and offers XMAGE styles, dynamic photos, and HDR Vivid video.
The Huawei Pura 90 Pro Max retains the same main rear camera and selfie snapper, but ups its photography game by introducing a 40MP ultra-wide unit and a 200MP periscope telephoto lens with OIS.
Both devices are based on the Kirin 9030S chipset paired with 12GB/16GB of RAM and 256GB/512GB/1024GB of storage. Each is powered by a 6000 mAh unit, supporting 100W wired SuperCharge and 50W wireless charging for the Pura 90 Pro and 80W wireless charging for the Pura 90 Pro Max. They also carry IP68 and IP69 ratings, offering resistance to dust, immersion in fresh water up to 2 meters for 30 minutes, and high‑temperature, high‑pressure water jets.
In terms of display, the two models differ more significantly. The Pura 90 Pro is built around a compact 6.6‑inch OLED display with a resolution of 1256 x 2760 px and 460 ppi. Its LTPO backplane enables a dynamic refresh rate from 1Hz to 120Hz with a 300Hz touch sampling rate. The display is protected by second‑generation Kunlun Glass, engineered to improve drop resistance while maintaining clarity and touch responsiveness. The Pura 90 Pro Max features a 6.9-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1308 x 2880 px and 460 ppi. It also has an LTPO backplane with a 1-120Hz refresh rate and a 300Hz touch sampling rate.
Connectivity for both models includes Wi‑Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0 with LDAC and L2HC audio codecs, NFC for payments and card emulation, and a comprehensive multi‑band GNSS system covering GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, Galileo, QZSS, and NavIC. The devices also support Beidou satellite messaging for communication in areas without cellular coverage. Additional hardware includes a USB‑C port, dual nano‑SIM support (eSIM for the Pro Max only), a full suite of environmental and motion sensors, and Huawei Histen audio processing.
