Sharp Aquos Wish6 is unveiled in Japan with a durable, eco-friendly design

The latest addition to the brand's environmentally conscious Aquos Wish series is designed to deliver dependable performance, long-term usability, and a gentle footprint on the planet. It will go on sale next month.
The Sharp Aquos Wish6 features a minimalist design crafted with recycled materials, including a back panel made from 100% recycled plastic. Sharp emphasizes that the device is engineered for durability, with a robust chassis and water- and dust‑resistant construction suitable for daily use. Sharp has reinforced the device's physical structure with a three‑piece design consisting of a windshield, frame, and back panel. Metal components integrated into the frame improve bending resistance by about 20% compared to the Wish5, while still maintaining a slim profile. The back panel features a shibo texture - a fine, matte, uneven finish that improves grip and reduces fingerprint visibility. The design was supervised by Miyake Design, led by Kazunari Miyake. The device is certified for IP69 water resistance and dust resistance, and MIL‑STD‑810H shock resistance.
The new model arrives in three colors - SORA, KINU, and SUMI - and introduces a series of upgrades over its predecessor, the Wish5. The most notable improvement is the display: the phone features a large 6.6‑inch HD+ LCD screen with maximum brightness boosted to approximately 1000 nits, roughly double that of the previous model. With the "Outdoor View" mode activated, the screen remains easy to read even under harsh sunlight. The panel also supports a 120Hz refresh rate, enabling smoother video playback and clearer rendering of fast‑moving content such as sports broadcasts.
The Sharp Aquos Wish6 houses a 5000 mAh battery supported by Sharp's Intelligent Charge system, which reduces battery wear during charging. The camera department comprises a 50MP main shooter with an f/1.8 aperture and an 8MP selfie snapper with an f/2.0 aperture. A MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset ticks under the hood paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Sharp Aquos Wish6 also has a fingerprint sensor, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C 2.0 port. The wireless connectivity options include NFC, Bluetooth 5.3, and Wi-Fi 5 support.
